Cardinals practice jerseys will look a little different this season. The Arizona Cardinals have inked a deal with Korean automaker, Hyundai. Under the deal, Hyundai obtains the typical media rights and Cardinals tickets, the naming rights to the Cardinals' summer training camp ("Cardinals Training Camp presented by Hyundai"), one of the entrances to the Cardinals Glendale stadium ("Hyundai Gate 1"), and an entertainment stage at the University of Phoenix stadium. The Cardinals will also wear a Hyundai logo-patch on their practice uniforms during the entire season Actual length and cost of the deal were not disclosed.
“Hyundai Motor America and the Valley Hyundai Dealers are excited about our new partnership with the Arizona Cardinals,” said Derrick Hatami, general manager, Western Region, Hyundai Motor America, in a statement. “We look forward to working with the team to further develop both the Hyundai and Arizona Cardinals brands, and creating a unique experience for Cardinals fans throughout the NFL season.” (via Press Release)
Hyundai's deal with the Cardinals expands their NFL footprint, as they already had a pre-existing deal with the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers. Cardinals training camp opens July 24th, and their first practice will be held July 25th.
