Before the season began, back when we were still polishing the dust of our crystal balls, did any of us see either the Vikings or the Cardinals having 4-2 records heading into Week 7?Come on now, donât lie.I admit before the season began I made some jokes about Minnesota in my Fantasy Football team preview. I wish I could take them back. Really, I do.But the fact is the Vikings have shocked and awed people to this point in the season, and we didnât even know they had it in âem.Most analysts had them projected in the basement of the NFC North. Right now theyâre wrestling for the Master Suite.Out west, Arizona has done largely the same thing, albeit in much sloppier fashion. A win on Sunday for either team will give them at least a partial lead in their respective divisions. Maybe thatâs impressive enough, but I think this win will do so much more.At 5-2, the winning team will have further legitimized their ascension while showing an ability to withstand setbacks. For Minnesota, itâs ...

Minnesota Vikings second-year quarterback Christian Ponder appeared to confirm on Twitter that he is currently dating ESPN personality Samantha Steele.
Christian Ponder is no longer one of Minnesota's most eligible bachelors.
Not only does the Vikings quarterback have his team at 4-2, but his personal life seems to be going just as well.
In a tweet Thursday, Ponder confirmed to the world that he is dating ESPN college football sideline reporter Samantha Steele.
A fan tweeted "Is @cponder & @Samantha_Steele dating...
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Christian Ponder has the Minnesota Vikings off to one of the more surprising starts in the NFL as the teams starting quarterback.
Turns out hes been pretty successful off the field too, confirming Friday he is dating ESPN college football sideline reporter Samantha Steele.
"Obviously, I am a catch," Ponder joked. "But I outpunted my coverage...
It appears a high profile pairing between an NFL quarterback and an attractive ESPN personality is the real deal, after speculation over the past few days that said stars were an item. The possibility that Minnesota Vikings second-year quarterback Christian Ponder and ESPN sideline reporter/host Samantha Steele was originally addressed by Busted Coverage earlier this [...]
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Christian Ponder stepped to the podium following the Minnesota Vikings 24-17 win against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday and again took the blame for interceptions and an otherwise stumbling passing offense.
Taking blame is something Ponder has willingly done over his 17 NFL starts. Unfortunately, needing to accept blame is too often the issue Minnesota'...
MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota had just defeated Arizona 21-14 at the Metrodome Sunday when Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder took to the podium and, essentially, apologized. "It's a good thing to be disappointed when you're 5-2," he began. "Obviously the offense, especially me, didn't perform as we should have." Winning will ease the pain, but consider...
NO IFS ANDS OR BUTTS
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder had a little rookie hazing prank up his sleeve on Thursday. Ponder tweeted the photo you see above and said he found the items in teammate Matt Kalilâs locker. He added, âI hope youâre okay bud.âPreparation H and Tucks are medications used to treat hemorrhoids. Kalil, a rookie offensive tackle who was drafted fourth overall in...
It looks like our Samantha Steele-Christian Ponder dating investigation was spot-on. Ponder, unless heâs just joking, said on Twitter yesterday that his girlfriend is Steele, the rising star of ESPNâs GameDay operation. If this isnât a joke, this player-sideline reporter relationship would be a college/NFL first, according to our researchers.
Steele, 26, hasnât exactly tweeted...
I report on him every night TâŚ
The Vikingsâ Christian Ponder is having a surprisingly productive year on the field. Off the field, heâs having a shockingly good year. Rumor has it the 24-year-old Vikings quarterback and the 26-year-old ESPN reporter Samantha Steele are getting to know each other. Not the first time sheâs been linked with an athlete. Looks like sheâs stealing...
For the past few days, some of our Interweb bloggy peers have been speculating that the recent Twitter activity between Minnesota Vikings QB Christian Ponder and ESPN college football reporter Samantha Steele made it seem like they had something going on. Like, maybe they were sexting like the cool kids do. And it turns out they do have something going on, because Ponder is an open...
For those who wrote and opined at the beginning of the season that the Cardinals have a better chance of winning with John Skelton at quarterback than Kevin Kolb, we just dont see it.When you sift through the detritus of Sundays 21-14 loss in Minnesota, you will notice a quarterback who completed 69.4 percent of his passes (25 of 36) for 266 yards and a touchdown. You will see he...
Coming into the 2012 NFL season, expectations weren't too high for the Arizona Cardinals. They had a QB battle between John Skelton & Kevin Kolb and Skelton was named the starter.. Well due to an injury to Skelton, Kolb was the Cardinals starting QB for the first 6 games of the season until he went down against the Buffalo Bills in week 6 with an injury to his ribs.. Kolb...
The Cardinals are forced to switch quarterbacks again after an injury to Kevin Kolb, but John Skelton has been in this position before and is looking to seize his opportunity.
Melvin Ingram was meant to lead all rookies in sacks within an improved San Diego pass rush, while up-and-coming Kansas City and Carolina were stealing their respective divisions. Matt Ryan and Mike Smith had originally received invitations to Michael Vick's dog house, and Peyton Manning was destined to be an all-time free agent bust.Ingram has 12 tackles and zero sacks through...
Adrian Peterson and a dominant Minnesota defense put the Vikings back on track, even if Christian Ponder and the passing game fell further out of sync.
Peterson ran 23 times for 153 yards and a first-quarter touchdown and the Vikings survived an ugly second half to hang on and beat Arizona 21-14 Sunday to hand the Cardinals their third straight loss.
Percy Harvin caught Ponder...
