After last night's debacle on offense, the Arizona Cardinal faithful have to be disgruntled for not landing Peyton Manning during the offseason.

Through their four preseason games, the Cardinals have gone 1-3 and the offensive line has looked awful at times.  Kevin Kolb and John Skelton have combined for 5 INT's, 8 Sacks, and only 2 scores.  They've also combined for a quarterback rating of 99, which would be great if that was one of their numbers, but it's not.

So who's to blame?

Well, it's a combination of things.  Both of these quarterbacks are young and inexperienced, which means they are going to make mistakes, but more importantly, they need time to go through their progressions and find the open receiver.  The offensive line isn't affording them the time to do so and this is why we are seeing all the mistakes being made.  It's a bad combination to have a young QB and a horrible offensive line.  Look what that did to David Carr's career in Houston.

What could Manning have done differently?

Peyton Manning is a veteran QB who is arguably the smartest to ever play the game.  He has the ability to read defenses better at the presnap count, as well as adjust on the fly during a play that is breaking down.  His quick release and knowing where everyone on the field is going to be at all times would have made up for this dismal group lined up in front of him.  Even if Manning is never fully healthy during this upcoming season, he would have been a far better option than either of these guys with this offensive line combination.

What does this mean for Larry Fitzgerald's season?

Fitz is still going to put up big numbers because he's the type of receiver who can go up and grab jump balls over defenders.  So when Skelton/Kolb are falling off their back foot throwing over oncoming linebackers, Fitzgerald will be there to snag a few of those hail mary's down.

All in all I really feel the Cardinals are going to take a step back this year.  Seattle is better and the 49ers are going to be a very good team again.  These QB's are going to be forced to grow up quick, that is, if they can stay healthy long enough to do so.
