Arizona Scratches Yet Another Starter Before They Take On Cleveland
USA TODAY Sports

Already +7.5 point underdogs, the Arizona Cardinals scratch another starter from their lineup.

Rookie running back Emari Demercado has been ruled OUT with a toe injury for this upcoming game. Not to say that he would have been a total game-changer, but this feels like another blow that Arizona could not afford.

In limited work, Demercado has racked up 195 yards on only 49 carries. He has found paydirt just once but has proved to be an up-and-coming weapon for the Cardinals.

The bulk of Demercado's work has come in the last two games, during which he has tallied a combined 33 carries for 136 total yards against the Seahawks and Ravens. Pretty good work against two very good run defenses.

The result of this Friday afternoon scratch is that second-year man Keaontay Ingram will get the start for the Cardinals on Sunday. To this point in the season, Ingram has just 64 yards on 24 carries and zero scores.

His best performance this year came back in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams, where he went for 40 yards on 10 carries. Modest numbers, but still a solid day.

For Cleveland, this just adds another layer of emphasis that they truly need to dominate this football game. The Browns' defense is already labeled as one of the top units in the league and they have a great opportunity on Sunday to flex their muscle.

Good teams beat inferior opponents, great teams dominate them. Let's see if the Browns come out on Sunday and take care of business leaving, no doubt and moving to 5-3.
