60 Max Power O:
It looked a lot worse when it happened.
Fortunately for John Skelton and the Arizona Cardinals, the quarterback's injury is not as bad as first feared. Skelton was hit hard and fell to the ground yesterday in the fourth quarter in Arizona's 20-16 victory over Seattle. Early indications were that Skelton had suffered a high ankle sprain. However, according to the Associated Press, Skelton has a low ankle sprain. That injury takes less time to recover from.
MRI and X-Ray tests were negative for a fracture. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the Associated Press the diagnosis was "good news". Whisenhunt did not say how long Skelton would be out.
Red Bird Clipped
In other injury news, nickel cornerback Jamell Fleming sustained a shoulder injury in the first half against the Seahawks and did not return. The severity of the injury is not known at this time but it looks like 5-foot-8 cornerback Michael Adams will take his place in nickel coverage against the high-powered Patriots this Sunday.
In addition, Beanie Wells clearly was affected by his sore hamstring yesterday. Not only did Wells not start (Ryan Williams did and really struggled) but he also gained just 14 yards on seven carries. Wells needs to get healthy quickly because it will be all hands on deck when the Cardinals travel to New England this Sunday to face Tom Brady and company.

What a thriller!
The Arizona Cardinals parlayed Kevin Kolb's fourth quarter heroics and an impressive last minute defensive stand to edge the Seattle Seahawks, 20-16 in their season opener Sunday afternoon at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
The much-maligned Kolb, who lost the training camp quarterback battle to John Skelton, replaced the injured Skelton and...
The Arizona Cardinals have announced that starting quarterback John Skelton will miss the next 2-4 weeks with a low ankle sprain that he suffered during the team’s season opening win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Skelton went down after a less than stellar performance in his first three quarters of play, and he has to be the lest bit worried that even when he does come back...

CBS Sports reporter Pat Kirwan tweeted that Cardinals running back Beanie Wells (hamstring) will play for Arizona but he expects Ryan Williams to receive most of the carries.Fantasy Spin:Wells doesn't make for a good fantasy play Sunday, and Williams is only a flex option against an underrated Seahawks run defense. Seattle held runners to 3.8 ypc last season, tied for fourth best in the NFL.
According to Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com, Cardinals quarterback John Skelton suffered a low ankle sprain during yesterdays’ win over the Seahawks. This is great news since he didn’t suffer the dreaded high ankle sprain.
QB John Skelton has a low ankle sprain. Hopefully Whisenhunt will give an idea of how long he will miss when he talks soon. Good news though

Consider me unimpressed by the Cardinals’ win over the Seahawks. The Seahawks were a poor road team starting a rookie 3rd round quarterback on the road in his 1st start with no offensive supporting cast, except a running back who was hurt. I had the Cardinals winning 3 games before the season and picked them to win this weekend. Nothing surprised...
Arizona QB John Skelton has a low-ankle sprain, according to Darren Urban of the Cardinals official website.Fantasy Spin:Ken Whisenhunt did not rule out Skelton playing Sunday and refused to discuss Skelton's time frame at all during his Monday press conference.
Quarterbacks John Skelton and Jake Locker were injured in season openers Sunday, while Rams tackle Rodger Saffold was carted off the field with a neck injury.
Skelton won the Cardinals' starting job in the preseason, just as Locker did in Tennessee. But Skelton was sidelined with a right ankle injury in the fourth quarter of a 20-16 win over Seattle.
Locker also went out in...
The Cardinals received good news Monday on John Skelton, as the
quarterback has a low-ankle sprain rather than a high-ankle sprain,
suggesting that the timeline for his recovery will not be as long
as originally feared.
Any Given Sunday…

Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona CardinalsARI 20 SEA 16Releasing a superstar, choosing a rookie quarterback over the man they paid and bringing on a receiver past his prime, doesn't really sound like a great way to go about an off-season. The Patriots opened as 13.5-point favorites as they host the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2.
This line is tremendous, enormous, mammoth and colossal all at the same time. Why? Part of the reason Arizona is getting no respect from the public is due to their quarterback situation. Watching Skelton and Kolb duke it out for the starting gig this summer was like staring at two Double...
The Arizona Cardinals beat the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. I have to be honest, thoroughly disappointing performance from the Seahawks defense. Skelton and Kolb tearing them up all day.
Sorry bro, not this year… Your team stinks.
