Despite departing the world of college ball over two years ago, Pete Carroll is still a popular name among NCAA circles, especially in regard to job openings.
Sources tell 5 News Arkansas that Razorbacks officials contacted Carroll about the university’s head coaching vacancy, but were promptly turned down by the Seahawks coach.
NFL Network analyst Steve Mariucci reportedly inquired about the position, though it’s unclear what his current level of interest is.
If this report is true, it’s no surprise Carroll wants to stay put in Seattle; he’s making good money and is slowly but surely turning the ‘Hawks into a contender.
Unlike his first go ’round, Carroll appears entrenched in the NFL, and is unlikely to re-enter the collegiate ranks anytime soon.
