The Atlanta Falcons were one of the most explosive teams in the National Football League in 2012, getting off to an undefeated 8-0 start and ultimately finishing with an NFC best 13-3 earning home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.  But as far as Falcons fans were concerned, that's where the questions really began.  They knew already that Matt Ryan was an outstanding regular season quarterback, that he could be relied upon to lead one of the most explosive offensive attacks with the likes of Roddy White and rising superstar Julio Jones at wide receiver and future Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez working the middle.  But throughout the course of his professional career, Ryan's outstanding regular season's have been followed by disappointing playoff appearances.  First, he was outperformed by veteran Kurt Warner of the Arizona Cardinals on his way to Super Bowl XLIII.  Then, after a disappointing 2009 season, Ryan led the Falcons to the best record in the NFC...

Atlanta Falcons: Comparing Osi Umenyiora to the Departed John Abraham

The Falcons released team sack leader John Abraham, and replaced him at defensive end with two time Super Bowl Champion, Osi Umnenyiora.  Abraham put together another great season last year with 10 sacks, and six forced fumbles despite a supporting cast that didn’t offer much support in helping him attack the quarterback. Abraham was undisputedly the best player on the defensive...

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter,  Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is expected to sign a new contract some time this summer. Now that Joe Flacco, Tony Romo, Mathew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers have received new contracts, it’s Ryan’s turn. It will be interesting to see how much money the Falcons end up giving Ryan since he hasn’t led them to a championship.  Both Flacco and...

Atlanta Falcons Fantasy Football Team Preview

At the QB position, the Falcons have a franchise Quarterback in our 6th ranked Matt Ryan. He is a perennial lock for 4,500 yards and 30 touchdowns and can take another big step forward to the tune of 5,000 yards and 35 TD. He is a great option at the back of the fourth round and doesn't have the risk of injury carried by Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson, or Cam Newton. Also,...

2012 Record: 13-32012 DownfallSecond Half CollapseHad it been a regular season game, fantasy owners of Julio Jones would have rejoiced.
