The Penalty Flag:
Although the Atlanta Falcons and the Houston Texans have identical records, the Texans appear to be the better team and after watching both teams for a couple of weeks, I’ll stand by this even as Falcons fan.Once the San Francisco 49ers lost, everyone jumped on the Texans bandwagon. These bandwagon jumpers will probably be along for the ride until Houston loses to either the Packers or the Ravens. That’s right; I do not believe the Texans will beat the Green Bay Packers and the Baltimore Ravens in back-to-back weeks. If they do, I will personally hand them the Super Bowl. Now, it must be said that both teams will benefit from being in two of the three weakest divisions in the NFL.… Read more

Matt Ryan threw for 369 yards, Michael Turner had 171 total yards and Roddy White had 169 yards and two touchdowns.Conspicuously absent from that list is Julio Jones, who finished the day with just one catch for 30 yards. Jones had eight targets over the course of the afternoon, so it wasn’t a lack of opportunity to make more plays that kept him from joining the rest of the...
Atlanta receiver Roddy White, who exploded for 169 yards and two touchdowns in Week 4, was mostly quiet on Sunday in the face of constant double teams.Fantasy Spin:Julio Jones and Tony Gonzalez both benefitted from the attention White got from the Redskins secondary. It appears each week Ryan is going to take what the defense gives him, instead of forcing in to a receiver. For fantasy...
Falcons receiver Julio Jones stepped up for fantasy owners in Week 5, catching 10 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown.Fantasy Spin:Jones is over the hand laceration that limited him last week. He benefitted from the Redskins doubling Roddy White most of the game following White's monster game in Week 4.
The Atlanta Falcons improved their record to 5-0 with a 24-17 comeback win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
The game featured some big performances by Falcons players. Tony Gonzalez caught 13 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown and Julio Jones hauled in 10 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown.
The biggest performance, though, and the hero of the game goes to quarterback Matt...
Andrew Siciliano who is in change of the Red Zone Channel on Sundays came up with a pretty great name for the celebration used by Ryan Kerrigan after he picked off Matt Ryan and ran it back for a Redskins’ touchdown. The touchdown put the Redskins up 7-0 over The Atlanta Falcons with just over 11 minutes left in the second quarter. Kerrigan’s celebration consisted of him jumping...
While Matt Ryan was on the field leading another late comeback, Robert Griffin III was hidden from view, getting treatment for a concussion that changed the game.
The Atlanta Falcons are off to the best start in franchise history and are the only 5-0 team in the NFC, with Ryan blazing the trail with consecutive come-from-behind, fourth-quarter wins.
The defense is chipping in as...
Headed into week five of the 2012 season, the Atlanta Falcons were 4-0. This year, at least early on, had the makings of Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan's most successful to date in his young career. However, Ryan and his Falcons were playing against a rising Washington Redskins team led by rookie sensation Robert Griffin III.Do I smell upset?Well, no, Altanta won the game 24-17...
After the Atlanta Falcons knocked Robert Griffin III out of the game, Matt Ryan kept throwing and throwing and throwing until he finally scraped up enough points to give his team its first 5-0 start in franchise history.
Michael Turner ran 13 yards for the go-ahead score with 2:46 to play, and Ryan completed 34 of 52 passes for 345 yards Sunday as Atlanta beat Washington 24-17,...

Oakland is coming off a bye and they can hopefully put together a solid performance to get this season going.
Carson Palmer against Matt Ryan is a mismatch on paper since one is running for the MVP whereas the other is just trying to maintain his job and get a few victories down the road.
Darren McFadden needs to run the ball...
Off to the best start in team history, the Atlanta Falcons have tried not to make too much of their early accomplishments.Based on the way the Oakland Raiders have played this season, the Falcons appear to have a good chance to continue that success.Looking to remain the NFC's lone undefeated team, the Falcons can help coach Mike Smith match the franchise mark for victories while...

This game against the Falcons is possibly the toughest matchup on the Raiders schedule this year.......Even...
The Redskins were holding onto some pretty impressive records before the game, including a seven game home losing streak. Apparently their fans are bad for them as they now have eight straight loses at home. The Falcons are 5-0 for the first time in franchise history.
Not quite the offensive duel we were expecting.
Sound awesome? Check our the wrap-up after the jump.
An Oakland Raiders training camp full of optimism and the promise of ball-hawking defensive backs giving the ball back to the offense has given way to a drought. With the starting cornerbacks out due to injury and an anemic pass rush, the makeshift secondary of the Raiders has yet to intercept its first pass through four games. “I wouldn’t have believed it,” cornerback...
