It looks to be Super Bowl or bust for Matt Ryan and the high-powered Atlanta Falcons in the upcoming highly-anticipated 2013 NFL season.  The Falcons head into 2013 having secured the NFC’s No. 1 seed in two of the past three playoffs, including last season’s, when the club finally came away with its first win of the Matt Ryan and Mike Smith era after bowling out of the postseason empty-handed in the first three trips to the playoffs. Perhaps the biggest factor in taking the next step will be the level of continued success from “Matty Ice,” who was on fire last year—as he set career-bests with 4,719 yards, 32 touchdowns (to just 14 interceptions) and a 68.6 completion percentage (connecting on 422 of 615 passes) and led his team to its first playoff win since 2004.  With Roddy White, Julio Jones and Tony Gonzalez at his disposal, Ryan, 28, has a good chance to follow in the footsteps of Joe Flacco and the other Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks around the league. FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. A few years ago, after he graduated high school and before he attended college, Ryan Schraeder drove a truck as his full-time job, delivering steaks to restaurants in his hometown of Wichita, Kan. On Saturday, Schraeder, an offensive tackle, celebrated making the Falcons active roster by going to dinner with friends and eating a steak the biggest one on the...

Observations from the Falcons final Pre-Season Game

On the offensive side of the ball I was impressed with Dominique Davis’ ability to elude and escape defenders in the pocket. His decision making has continued to improve from week to week, despite the fact he did throw an INT in this game. It’s important to note that Davis had a lot of plays where he pressured and had a defender bearing down on him and hung in the pocket to make...
