Last week: 3 (+0)
I’ve said it several times before. There’s only so long you can play inferior teams close before one of them beats out and that’s what happened in New Orleans last week. Fortunately, their remaining schedule isn’t that hard (vs. Arizona, @ Tampa Bay, vs. New Orleans, @ Carolina, vs. NY Giants, @ Detroit, vs. Tampa Bay), so they should probably still be able to get the #1 seed, but I wouldn’t like their chances with someone like Chicago coming to town in the NFC Championship game.

CB Asante Samuel: Did not allow a catch on 3 attempts, 2 pass deflections, 1 interception, 1 penalty, 2 solo tackles, 1 stop

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. Its not often that a coach says that cutting a player who started 20 of his teams last 25 games will make his team better but thats what Falcons head coach Mike Smith said on Wednesday about defensive end Ray Edwards.
The Falcons parted ways on Monday with Edwards, who received a contract worth 11-million guaranteed in 2011 but made little impact on the field...

Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux said any harassment of former teammate Curtis Lofton, now a linebacker with New Orleans, before last Sundays 31-27 loss was done in good nature.
Saints linebacker Scott Shanle, who was inactive for the game, accused the Falcons of trash-talking with Lofton and interfering with Saints pregame drills, according to a Yahoo! Sports...
I've already told you how much I dislike NFL power rankings. They are worthless. Earlier this week I was checking up on my reader and came across this weeks power rankings from Bloguin's feature NFL site This Given Sunday. They ranked the Falcons second which doesn't excite or upset me but I was intrigued by the blurb that they associated with the ranking. Here is what...
Coming off of a week where they went undefeated, the NFC West teams will look to continue their success in Week 11. With Seattle on a bye, there are just three games, one of which is on Monday night. There are a few tough matchups this week, but hopefully we do not have to experience any more ties. Here is your NFC West Week 11 preview.Arizona Cardinals (4-5) at Atlanta Falcons (8...
Just when I think I have this league figured out, the Bengals upset the Giants, the Chiefs catch the Steelers off guard and we get a tie game. What is happening? Major shifts for some this week. Atlanta Falcons (8-1) [No Change] – Okay, so they can’t go undefeated. Look, a loss to a divisional The post No Coast NFL Power Rankings — Week 11 appeared first on No Coast Bias.
Offensive MVP: Matt Ryan The Boston College product is enjoying his best season to date posting career highs in completion percentage and quarterback rating. However the most significant indicator of his success is the fact that the Atlanta Falcons currently sit atop the NFC South sporting an impressive 8-1 record. Ryan has played well [...]
I’m not a big fan of writing posts about whatever happens on twitter but every now and then something pops that I feel like addressing. Yesterday Houston Rockets rookie Royce White tweeted his discontent about his relationship with the Rockets. For those who don’t know, the promising rookie talent has generalized anxiety disorder, a condition that can make routine day-to-day...
