Audio of Chad Wheeler's arrest reveals physical struggle with police

Former Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle Chad Wheeler was arrested last month after allegedly strangling his girlfriend when she refused to bow down to him.

Audio of the arrest, obtained by TMZ Sports, revealed an intense physical struggle as police officers tried to detain Wheeler, who can be heard apologizing to his victim and telling her, "I love you."

Officers can be heard saying that Wheeler is resisting arrest and, at one point, they threaten to use a Taser on him.

"If you don't comply with us, you're gonna get hurt," an officer told Wheeler.

The 27-year-old reportedly struggles with bipolar disorder, which can cause episodes of mood swings ranging from depressive lows to manic highs.

Wheeler's reported victim, Alleah Taylor, spoke out about the incident earlier this month, saying she has bolts and a steel plate in her arm that will be there forever.

The former Seahawk will likely never play for an NFL team again, but the league could ensure that by handing down punishment, which it has yet to do. According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, several players around the league want the NFL to "issue a strong statement against Wheeler and impose significant discipline against him."
