After serving his one week suspension, Shaun Ellis is coming back to the starting lineup just in time for the match-up against division rivals, the New England Patriots, Tim Graham reports. In preparation for Ellis’ return the Jets have waived cornerback Marquice Cole whose feel good story is now down the tubes.
The New York Jets have waived cornerback Marquice Cole to make room for the reinstatement of suspended defensive end Shaun Ellis.
Cole, signed as a free agent in February, was inactive for the Jets’ 24-7 win at Houston on Sunday.
No surprises here, someone has to go right? I’m still perplexed as to why Drew Coleman is still aboard, there must be something there we can’t see. Anyway it will be good to have the veteran Ellis back home where he belongs once again and if the defense was that potent against the Texans just imagine how the defense will look with Ellis back along with Calvin Pace, who will return after New York’s next three games.
