Denver Mayor Michael Hancock claimed this week that an unspecified injury kept him from holding up his end of a friendly bet with Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. When the Ravens beat the Broncos last week, Hancock was slated to perform Ray Lewis’ famous pregame dance. The Denver Mayor did not default on the bet but we have still yet to see the dance. The substitute for the dance showed up in the Baltimore Mayor’s office by Thursday according to the Baltimore Sun, a box of dry aged rib-eye from Lombardi Brother’s Meats. In lieu of being physically capable to do the Ray Lewis dance, Mayor Hancock sent quality steaks to Mayor Rawlings-Blake. On Saturday, Rawlings-Blake kept the spirit of giving and the spirit of the bet alive when she gave the steaks to Baltimore Fire Department, Engine Company 52. Do not worry, the gift from the Mayor to the fire department was pre-approved by the local union president. Company 52 received the steaks because they represent Ray Lewis both nume...

The Ravens will have to go through Tom Brady and the...

Stories to focus on besides Harbowl and Ray Lewis (and why those 2 stories aren’t that interesting)

Last year, after the Eagles and Falcons seasons went approximately nowhere, I was one of the ones rooting for a Harbowl. The thought of two teams with physical defenses playing each other was too tempting for me to resist. This year, I get my wish, although I’m less happy about it because this was supposed to be my Falcons’ year. But this year the matchup is also more exciting...

Angry Anna Burns Welker Rips Ray Lewis On Facebook After Pats Loss

Remember Anna Burns Welker? She’s Wes Welker’s wife and not a big fan of Ray Lewis, according to a Facebook status update she dropped last night after the Ravens won the AFC Championship and posted on The Big Lead. In her tirade, Anna refers to Ray having “6 kids 4 wives.” You might remember this is the same former Miss Hooters International who ripped Busted Coverage...

Bill Belichick is the reason Ray Lewis ended up with the Ravens

In his Friday 10 Spot, ESPN’s Adam Schefter did a great job of breaking down how if it wasn’t for Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick, linebacker Ray Lewis wouldn’t have been drafted  by the Ravens. Belichick was the Browns’ head coach in 1995, when Cleveland traded a No. 1 pick to San Francisco in exchange for several picks. The 49ers used the 10th overall pick, which...

Super Bowl Betting: Odds favor 49ers over Ravens

If anyone thinks the Baltimore Ravens feel slighted by being underdogs on the Super Bowl odds menu, think again. Baltimore just won outright on the road as a 9-point underdog at Denver and then as an 8-point underdog at New England. Getting 4.5 points (bet down to 4 points early in the week according to the NFL odds menu at OddsShark.com) just makes it easier. Online sportsbooks...
