The Baltimore Ravens rested up last weekend and they seem hungry and ready to go for tomorrow afternoon’s tilt with the Texans.  The Texans blistered the Bengals last weekend.  The Ravens beat the Texans 29-14 in Baltimore back in week six this year.  Here is a look at the matchups in this game: When the Ravens have the ball:  The Ravens have to get the ball in Ray Rice’s hands as much as possible in this game.  He had 161 total yards against the Texans in their first meeting of the year.  If Rice is effective running the ball, Joe Flacco could be deadly off of play action.  If Flacco has time to throw the ball, he could be somewhat effective as long as he’s careful with the ball as the Texans have an outstanding pass rush and secondary.  With that being said, the Ravens are still going to take some deep shots to WR Torrey Smith.  Anquan Boldin, Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta will likely handle the short stuff in this game. When the Texans have the ball:  The Texans w...

Ravens Advance To AFC Championship

The Ravens are bound for the AFC Championship after taking down the Texans in the Divisional Round with a final score of 20-13 at M&T Bank Stadium. Fantasy Spin: Quarterback Joe Flacco was efficient against a fierce defense as he completed 14 of 27 passes for 176 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Stud running back Ray Rice was held in check though, as he bruised...

NFL Playoffs: Ray Rice Is Not The Only Weapon For Ravens

Some people in Houston have been so focused on Ray Rice that it can feel like he is the only offensive player that the Ravens have. Rice is certainly an enormous part of the offense–he is second in the NFL in all-purpose yards (behind Antonio Brown who had half of his yards on returns). However, he was not the only one that killed the Texans in their first meeting. The Ravens...

MNF's Jaworski defends Flacco, says Ravens can be super

MNF analyst: "I'm shocked that Joe hasn't been accepted more." Monday Night Football analyst Ron Jaworski still lives in New Jersey and is friendly with Delaware football coach K.C. Keeler, so it is fair to say that the former NFL quarterback has closely followed the growth and development of Ravens¿ signal caller, Joe Flacco, a Garden State native and a former Blue Hen.

Texans’ Defense Shines in Playoff Loss to Ravens

The Texans harassed Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco and held Baltimore to 227 total yards.

Prediction Friday: Ravens advance to second AFC Championship in four seasons

Sunday’s AFC divisional round matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans is going to come down to which quarterback can make the most plays. Why? Well, Ray Rice and Arian Foster will both do their thing and the defenses will play well. So that leaves Joe Flacco vs. T.J. Yates.Advantage Flacco. Why advantage Flacco? Baltimore has a better defense that will shut...

Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans: The Impact of Ben Tate and Ricky Williams

Both the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans have a premier runningback. Ray Rice and Arian Foster have been accumulating tons of yards this year and their play on the field speaks for it self. But when Rice or Foster needs a breather, two backs are ready to go. The Ravens rely on veteran Ricky Williams to compliment Ray Rice while the Texans do the same with young Ben Tate out of...

NFL Playoffs Fantasy Football Recap: Texans vs. Ravens

Houston Texans 13 Baltimore Ravens 20 This is another game that pretty much played out exactly as was predicted. The Ravens play pretty well when at home, while the Texans limped toward the end of the season with three straight losses before pulling out a victory last week against a Bengals team that may have been one of the only other teams in the playoffs with less momentum...

Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens Game Analysis

Going into this game, with subdued optimism, I thought that the Houston would hold their own against the Baltimore Ravens. In fact, they not only held their own but outplayed them in almost every aspect of the game. The two glaring discrepancies for the Texans were turnovers and the quarterback. Otherwise the Texans dominated this game. If you do not believe me check it out for...

The Cheese Falls Alone

Despite getting a handful of just horrible, horrible calls in their favor, the Packers were the first home team to drop a game this postseason. Very sad. But also hilarious to the point of gut laughter pain. Those State Farm ads will take on a very plaintive tone over the next week. It was a mixed weekend for teams with superior offenses and wretched defenses. The Saints and Packers...
