Last week: 11 The AFC North remains clear as mud after 2 weeks. Cincinnati and Baltimore are the only two teams that have won games and between them I’d still pick my pre-season pick of Baltimore because of Cincinnati’s recent inability to beat playoff caliber opponents. They don’t seem to be much of a Super Bowl contender, however, in a conference mostly devoid of them. Eyeing his first start Bernard Pierce headlines a list of backups primed for breakouts this week

Bernard Pierce is in for a big workload this week against the Houston Texans. He’s had a reasonable amount of work so far (28 carries to date, nine in week one) even with Rice healthy but with the veteran downgraded to doubtful it looks as if Pierce will make his first professional start. So far this year he’s averaging under 3 yards per carry but after posting a number near...

Fantasy football: Week 3 news and notes

It’s week 3, and I’m already scared to death about the outlook of my fantasy football team’s future. Questions surround my Arian Foster-led fantasy squad as it makes its way into its week 3 matchup, looking to improve upon its current 1-1 record. Will Foster continue to lose touches as his backup, Ben Tate, continues to progress? Is Marques Colston going to start producing...

Ray Rice Will Be A Game-Time Decision In Week 3

Baltimore Ravens HC John Harbaugh told reporters on Friday that RB Ray Rice will be a game-time decision. Rice has been listed as questionable throughout the week following a hip injury he suffered against the Browns last weekend. The Ravens have already hinted that Bernard Pierce could handle the ground game against the Texans should Rice be unable to suit up. I could see Baltimore...

During Monday's press conference, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that he expected running back Ray Rice to take Wednesday's practice session off as he recovers from the hip injury that caused him to exit Sunday's contest against the Cleveland Browns. Sawbones Scribings Week 3: Is Ray Rice Cooked?

Instead of diving in with the usual pizzazz, I want to step back and take a look at something that happened last week. Baltimore running back Ray Rice was held to 36 yards on 13 carries before leaving with a strained left hip flexor. And then fantasy football showed its dark side. While we can’t see what was sent to him on his timeline (@RayRice27), it’s safe to say there were...

Bernard Pierce may fill in for Ray Rice against the Texans...

Bernard Pierce, the second-year running back out of Temple, may end up the feature running back this Sunday against the Houston Texans. That's because Ray Rice is still doubtful to play due to injury--- but it's also because Bernard Pierce is pretty good in his own right. Garrett Downing brings us the weekend depth chart and injury report from his Ravens.com office computer...

He will be hailed Sunday for a sensational 17-year career and for spending all...
