Baltimore Ravens (3-1) at Kansas City Chiefs (1-3) I ranked the Ravens ranked 3rd in my Power Rankings and called them the 2nd best team in the AFC behind Houston because of the head-to-head win over New England and their superior yards per play differential over New England. I think that New England and Baltimore are both going to finish around 12-4 and with Houston likely to win the AFC, that would leave those two tied for the 2nd seed with the tiebreaker going to Baltimore, by virtue of the head-to-head win, making a likely rematch in the AFC divisional round one in which Baltimore would more likely to win All that being said, this team really needs to kick their inconsistency habit. I came away from their win over Cleveland very unimpressed and disappointed that this team played down to the level of their opponent once again. They’ll have to prove they can avoid doing that this week. Last year, they were just 2-6 ATS outside of the division against non-playoff teams and their on...

NFL First Quarter Report Card: Baltimore Ravens

The 2012 Baltimore Ravens have had many ups and downs to begin the NFL first quarter this season, both on and off the field. The Ravens found out that they lost Terrell Suggs for the first half of the season prior to the start of training camp, and wide receiver Torrey Smith found out that he lost his brother in a motorcycle accident just hours before the team’s third game. Through...

Fans getting restless over Cassel's slow start

"I'm not the type of player that looks over his shoulder," Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel said this week. In Kansas City and among Chiefs fans everywhere, he doesn't have to look over his shoulder to know they are angry and demanding his job. He can hear that, even if he doesn't watch TV or listen to sports talk radio. The 2012 season was the year where...

Chiefs Injury Report: Kevin Boss to Miss Rest of the Season

The Chiefs will be without one of their tight ends for the remainder of the season.  Kansas City placed Kevin Boss on the Injured Reserve list and do not expect him to be cleared to play again this season.  Boss will miss the team's final 12 regular season games after missing the last two. According to Dan Hanzus of NFL.com, Boss suffered a concussion in week two and...

Chiefs put TE Boss on IR with head injury

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) The Chiefs have put tight end Kevin Boss on injured reserve after doctors determined they would not clear him to play this season following a head injury sustained in Week 2. Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel announced the move Wednesday, along with the signing of former Rams linebacker Bryan Kehl to provide some depth on defense. Boss signed a 9 million, three-year...

We might see Brady Quinn again, but can he revive his career?

Do you remember the 2007 NFL Draft when everyone drooled over the 6’3, 200 plus pound rock of a quarterback from Notre Dame? I do, I remember the hype of Quinn, especially when he put up more reps on the bench than some of the linebackers.  Well today, Coach Romeo Crennel left open the possibility of Brady Quinn getting in Sunday’s game against the Ravens. It sounds like Crennel...

Chiefs lose Kevin Boss for the season

If Chiefs fans want to see an ‘inept’ player ‘constantly making poor decisions,’ Romeo Crennel should yank Matt Cassel and insert Brady Quinn

Although Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel reiterated that Matt Cassel will be under center against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, it is evident that former University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish star Brady … Continue reading →

Kansas City Chiefs: Week 5 NFL Power Rankings (#27)

Last week: 27 (+0) Record: 1-3 After a 37-20 home loss to the Chargers, the Chiefs have now lost 12 of their 19 losses by 16 or more points since 2010. When it rains, it pours for this team and it definitely poured this week as they turned the ball over 6 times en route to a blowout loss. At one point in the middle of the 2nd quarter, the Chiefs had 14 yards to the Chargers’ 20...

Ravens travel to Kansas City for Week 5 Showdown with Chiefs

With a quarter-season now in the books, the Ravens sit at 3-1, right where any team wants to be after the first four game stretch of the regular season.  Some argue that without the bad offensive pass interference call on Jacoby Jones against the Eagles, the team would be 4-0.  However, we should also note that the poorly officiated Patriots game, in which the Ravens escaped by...
