Joe Flacco (Jim McIsaac/Getty Images) The Baltimore Ravens have looked toward quarterback Joe Flacco to lead the offense this season. The reigning Super Bowl MVP has had to step up in a big way to help the struggling Ravens offense. With a run game that seems to be  falling apart, an offensive line that can’t find a groove, and inconsistencies from receivers, Flacco has become an even more crucial part of the Ravens attack. Since the run game has not been a major part of the team’s offensive scheme, Flacco has been forced to to throw the ball more than in previous seasons. He has thrown for 1,917 yards in seven games and has thrown 50 or more passes in two separate games. Both of those games resulted in a Ravens loss. Flacco has thrown for eight touchdowns, but he has also thrown the same number of interceptions. The Ravens have always had solid running backs and they have relied heavily on the run game. But Flacco has had to adjust this season, sending the ball downfield in the air. Flacco has a strong arm and the ability to throw an accurate long-ball with ease. However, Flacco has not put forth the accuracy that he has in the past. Last season, Flacco had a 40.2 percent pass accuracy rating. This season, he has 29.2 percent rating. Flacco has thrown eight interceptions in seven weeks. In Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills, he threw a career high five interceptions. The Ravens need Flacco to take care of the ball in the coming weeks. Poor decisions from the quarterback have led opposing defenses to easily pick off the football. The good news is that Flacco has only thrown one interception since the disaster in Buffalo. Throwing accurate passes and minimizing turnovers could be the key to turning Flacco’s season around.   Related Articles Baltimore Ravens: Perfect timing for a bye week Baltimore Ravens: Pitta to return sooner than expected?
