Last week: 13 (-1) Record: 6-2 They may be 6-2, but dating back to week 1, this team has not won a single game by 10 or more and only one was decided by more than a touchdown, last week at Cleveland, a game in which the lowly Browns actually scored more frequently than the Ravens, but frequently imploded in field goal range and had to settle for 5 field goals. On that stretch, they’ve had two less than stellar performances against the Browns, a 3 point road win against the lowly Chiefs, a near home loss to the Cowboys, and a blowout loss in Houston. This team hasn’t done anything remotely impressive since a 31-30 home win against the Patriots week 3. Now they have a much tougher schedule as they play the surging Steelers 2 times in 4 weeks after an easier performance this week against Oakland. They also have to play Denver and the New York Giants and got to San Diego, a team that always surges late and one who crushed them in a similar situation last season. Their defense has been d...

I'm sitting at 84-49 heading into the weekend.  I need to have a huge run to get over .750 for the season. NY Giants @ Cincinnati - The Giants are coming off...

Ravens LB Ayanbadejo approves of gay marriage vote

Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo is delighted Marylanders voted in favor of same sex marriage. Ayanbadejo said Wednesday, ''It's like I woke up and it's Christmas.'' Baltimore's locker room reflects society, so not all of Ayanbadejo's teammates shared his enthusiasm about the historic decision. Safety Bernard Pollard says, ''There are...

Ravens CB Williams mounts impressive salary drive

It was with no small amount of angst that Baltimore's Cary Williams declined a $15 million, three-year offer from the Ravens during the past offseason. The cornerback thought he was worth more. And lately, it's looking like Williams might be right. After playing in 42 NFL games without an interception, Williams has picked off four passes in his last five games. He leads...

Poor secondary and key injuries may doom the Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens received a surprise visit from injured star Ray Lewis, who was placed on the injured reserve-designated to return list over three weeks ago. AFC North remains a two-team race

The Baltimore Ravens are 6-2 -- and appear to be completely vulnerable. The Pittsburgh Steelers are 5-3, graying and flawed but winners of three straight after being left for dead. The state of Ohio has two AFC North teams, too. All four except the Browns are now at the midway point of their respective 2012 seasons, and after this weekend all will have played nine games. The Ravens...
