What’s the difference between a Dirty Bird and a dirty tub? Only one has a ring. Mondays usually suck. But this particular Monday, Who Dats everywhere embraced the dawn of a new day like a character in a Disney movie. They sprang out of bed, slid into their slippers, ran to their windows, whistling all the while, and waited for bluebirds to perch themselves on outstretched fingers. Tis a glorious day indeed! After all, not only did the Saints pull off a huge win against a division rival, they popped the undefeated cherry of that rival, sending the team and its fans back to their homeland with visions of suicide dancing in their heads. “They only thing better than 11-2 against Atlanta is the fact the Saints have won a Super Bowl and Aaron Brooks still has more playoff wins than Matt Ryan.” – Ralph Malbrough It’s probably better to be gracious in victory as in defeat but given all the trash talk we Saints fans have been on the receiving end of this past week, screw being gracious. We want to rub this thing in till our hands hurt! Roddy White ran his big mouth again last week about just how much he hates the Saints and the City of New Orleans. Knowing just how much he hates us lets us know that he took this loss especially hard and we feast on his tears. Maybe one day our favorite “Lord of the Ringless” will be mindful enough to trash talk only after he’s actually done something. “A rivalry? I wouldn’t say so because the Saints always [are] out on top of that. It’s not even.” – Curtis Lofton But enough about those poor Atlanta losers, let’s get to the real headline of yesterday’s wonderfulness. The Saints are now 4-5. Suddenly, their hopes of seeing the postseason aren’t quite as preposterous. We actually have a legitimate shot at saving this ridiculous season. Sure it will be tough. Yes, it’s still a bit of a long shot. But with every win, the reality of the kind of history this team could make seems that much more tangible. Since we’re no Roddy Whites, we won’t count our chickens before they’re hatched. But we will say that as of Sunday, November 11, 2012, this NFL season just got a hell of a lot more entertaining for Saints fans. addthis_url = 'http%3A%2F%2Fchicksinthehuddle.com%2F2012%2F11%2F12%2Fbasking-in-the-warm-glow-of-falcons-suckery%2F'; addthis_title = 'Basking+In+the+Warm+Glow+of+Falcons+Suckery'; addthis_pub = '';
