The Chicago Bears and receiver Devin Thomas have agreed to a one-year contract. Thomas has 43 receptions for 482 yards in four seasons with Washington, Carolina and the New York Giants. He was mainly a special-teams contributor for the Giants last season and recovered two fumbles in the NFC title game against San Francisco, including one that set up the winning field goal in overtime, for the eventual Super Bowl champions. The Bears announced the move Wednesday on their website.

Bears agree to 1-year deal with WR Thomas

The Chicago Bears agreed to terms on a one-year contract with wide receiver Devin Thomas. Thomas, 25, spent last season with the New York Giants, playing primarily on special teams. He had only three receptions for 37 yards. A second-round draft choice by the Washington Redskins in 2008, Thomas had his best season in 2009-10 with 25 receptions and three touchdowns.

Bears add to receiving corps with signing of Thomas

Looking to provide Quarterback Jay Cutler with another target, the Chicago Bears inked former New York Giants wide receiver Devin Thomas to a one-year deal. To be fair, Thomas is merely a complimentary piece, as he contributed mostly on special teams this past season in the Giants Super Bowl run.  In fact, the 6-2, 221-pound Thomas came up big in the post-season  [...]

Chicago Bears Extend “Strong Offer” to Matt Forte

Matt Forte, courtesy GraphicsHunt The Matt Forte and Chicago Bears drama has moved to the next act. Forte took a one-year deal last season, knowing an injury could seriously hurt his pay in the offseason. When it happened, the Bears would have been foolish not to franchise him—he was perfect for his role in that offense, but they did not know if he would be the same back. But the...

Coughlin: “New Yorkers know who won the Super Bowl.”

While the New York Jets are busy winning headlines and the back pages in New York, the New York Giants are busy waiting for their Super Bowl 46 Championship rings. Head coach Tom Coughlin isn’t worried about all the attention the Jets have received with the Tim Tebow circus. “You know who the world champions are,” Coughlin said, breaking into a wide smile. “Whether we...

Giants' Coughlin throws dig at Jets

Giants coach Tom Coughlin wasn't exactly gloating. Well, maybe he was. Asked at the NFC coaches breakfast about all the attention the New York Jets have been getting with their trade for Tim Tebow and contract extension for Mark Sanchez -- in other words, their budding quarterback controversy -- Coughlin simply smiled and said: ''You know who won the Super Bowl even...

Tom Coughlin: Jets have headlines but Giants have trophies

Tom Coughlin usually isn't the one stirring up controversy at MetLife Stadium— he leaves that duty to his counterpart Rex Ryan— but the New York Giants head coach seemed to be taking a jab at his stadium mates the New York Jets when he was asked about all of the attention the Jets were getting for the Tim Tebow trade. "You know who won the Super Bowl even if we'...

Jerry Jones on John Mara: We’ll settle things on the field

It looks like the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys will have a score to settle on the field when they face off on Wednesday September 5th to kickoff the 2012 NFL regular season. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones isn’t too happy that Giants owner John Mara said that he wouldn’t win his grievance over losing $10 million in salary cap space. On Tuesday, the NFL owners ratified the agreement...

49ers sign Brandon Jacobs

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the San Francisco 49ers have signed former New York Giants  running back Brandon Jacobs. Jacobs is the second former Giants player the 49ers have signed this offseason.  They also signed wide receiver Mario Manningham about a week ago. I’d be surprised if both Kendall Hunter and Anthony Dixon don’t end up ahead of Jacobs on the depth chart...
