Chicago Bears special teams coordinator Dave Toub is the latest candidate to interview for the Miami Dolphins' coaching job.
The Dolphins completed a two-day interview with Toub on Wednesday. They've also interviewed former Titans coach Jeff Fisher and Todd Bowles, who was Miami's interim coach for the final three games this season after Tony Sparano was fired.
Toub has been with the Bears since 2004 and helped Devin Hester, Johnny Knox, Robbie Gould and Brendon Ayanbadejo win Pro Bowl honors. He was an assistant special teams and defensive line coach for Philadelphia in 2001-03.
Toub's ascent to a head-coaching job would not be unprecedented. Ravens coach was John Harbaugh was the Eagles' special-teams coach for nine years.

A Quick Conversation with RamsHerd.com About Jeff Fisher
As many Dolfans are waiting for Fisher’s answer of what team he will coach, I thought it would be interesting to get a few takes from RamsHerd.com fellow blogger Derek Pease.

Jeff Fisher ‘all but certain’ to coach Rams
In a day filled with the removal of several head coaches and front office types, it’s no surprise that Jeff Fisher has emerged as the hottest commodity on the coaching circuit.
Not Jon Gruden, who’s contractually committed to ESPN and his peers on Monday Night Football. Not Bill Cowher, who’s apparently content with his cushy studio gig at CBS. Not even Brian Billick...
The Jeff Fisher leverage game is working
Earlier today, we pointed out that free-agent coach Jeff Fisher — the only “A”-list coach in the 2012 hiring cycle — has adroitly commenced the process of building leverage for a great job offer by making it known that he left Miami with a good impression of the Dolphins and owner Stephen Ross. And so,…

Fisher is not likely to coach the Bucs, though that's not necessarily a bad thing...
Over the past few days perhaps the biggest name on the coaching market has been Jeff Fisher. Fisher is an extremely experienced coach who spent the better part of two decades in Tennessee and Houston coaching the Titans (once Oilers). With Bill Cowher being coy about whether he wants to coach...
Report: Dolphins set to interview Packers OC Joe Philbin
The Dolphins have identified the next person they want to interview if Jeff Fisher chooses St. Louis over Miami. And he might solve the Dolphins’ quarterback dilemma, too. Former NFL Head Coach Jeff Fisher And Dolphins Talking Today
Jeff Fisher arrived in a helicopter with Dolphins owner Stephen Ross in Miami on Tuesday for an interview for the team's head coaching vacancy, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN who cites a league source. Jeff Fisher will interview in St. Louis
The first NBCSportsTalk on the newly christened NBC Sports Network had a juicy nugget in the first five minutes. St. Louis certainly qualifies. Fisher…
