Via Helmet2Helmet:

One of this year’s proposed rule changes includes one that’d make it illegal for runners to lead with the crown of their helmets when outside the tackle box.
Matt Forte is not a fan.
The Bears running back took to Twitter to voice his displeasure, calling it the “most absurd suggestion of a rule change.”
The proposed rule change for running backs might be the most absurd suggestion of a rule change I've ever heard of.

Forte continued:
In order to lower ur shoulder u obviously have to lower ur head. It's a way of protecting ur self from a tackler and a way to break tackles

U can't change the instinctive nature of running the football.

Hard to argue with Forte, who knows a thing or two about carrying the football. His opinion aside, however, the NFL’s Competition Committee will do what it thinks is right in the name of player safety.
With this week’s league meeting taking place in Arizona, this proposal is sure to be a major topic of conversation. And, if Forte has the pulse of his peers, probably not in a positive light.
