Bears move TE Olsen After sitting on the sidelines during the NFL’s mad scramble for players during the early portion of the week, the Chicago Bears dived head-first into the fray Thursday, making a series of personnel moves that culminated with the trade of tight end, and former first-round draft pick, Greg Olsen to Carolina. Initially, it was believed the Bears would receive a player and draft pick as compensation, but sources later reported Chicago will receive a third-round choice in next spring’s NFL draft in return. It was a puzzling end to Olsen’s four-year Bears career. Heralded as a fine receiving talent coming out of the University of Miami in 2007, Olsen’s career improved each year but seemed to stagnate last year in offensive coordinator Mike Martz’s sytem.
