Chicago Bears coach Marc Trestman in his second day running his first minicamp for the team, was impressed to see the lack of mental errors.
Most of the time when installing a new system, the mental side is the hardest part to get down.
If a player doesn’t have the understanding of what the concept is, then he won’t be able to react naturally and be effective.
Trestman feels after watching two days of his team run through drills, that they are getting the message.
“It's been a good start just to see the guys being able to take on so much information,” Trestman said, via Brad Biggs of The Chicago Tribune.
“We challenged them (Tuesday). They had three or four days with scripts in their hands at the hotel or at their house preparing for Day 1.
They had the scripts for Day 2 but they were focused on Day 1 to get through it. And so what was impressive today was we had very few mentals.”

I admit, I’m a little embarrassed to say I watch the show. But it sure was entertaining when it started. And wow, did that show eventually go off the rails. I mean, I can buy that some random old vampire in a made up town called Bon Temps would fancy some girl named Sookie that can read minds. Heck, her name is Sookie...

Chicago Bears veterans have been called to the old "voluntary" minicamp starting Tuesday to meet the new head coach and see what his plans might be. Minicamps usually don't get me overly excited, but I am curious to know what Marc Trestman has planned for running back Matt Forte.
Forte has been a very productive back for the Bears since he was drafted in the...
