The Chicago Bears are reportedly concerned with the condition of running back Matt Forte's knees, according to The Chicago Tribune.
This sheds light on why the Bears are reluctant to ink the ultra-talented young running back to a long-term contract.
Forte sprained his right MCL late last season and the club is concerned regarding the stability of his knees for the future. Forte will likely have to settle for his 2012 franchise tender of around $7.7M rather than getting the lucrative extension that he covets, and Michael Bush would lead the Bears into battle if Forte ultimately decides to be a holdout.
Either way, Bush is an essential handcuff for fantasy football, as was the case while backing up injury prone stud Darren McFadden in Oakland.
