Found January 14, 2013 on Down and Distance:
The long and controversial search for a new Chicago Bears head coach is coming to an end. According to David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears have narrowed their search for a new head coach down to just two candidates: Marc Trestman of the Montreal Alouettes and Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. The two candidates will be brought back by Chicago for another interview. The final process for the two will begin on Tuesday, when the two candidates will be brought to Halas Hall early in the day. Bevell was cleared up to interview after the Seahawks were eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday. However, one man, we know, doesn’t want him to leave Seattle, and it’s the same man that has gave his name recognition this season: Russell Wilson. Trestman was rumored (by Jimmy Johnson) to have the job last week, but he laid the rumors to rest. Trestman, a coach int he Canadian Football League, has gained some notoriety with multiple NFL teams this time around, and he’ll get his chance at the Bears job on Tuesday. The post Bears head coaching job narrowed to two candidates appeared first on DOWN & DISTANCE.

I know they fell short of the goal, but Wilson has a lot of good years a head of himself and plenty of championships that could come his way. Seahawks could look to trade Matt Flynn

Before Russell Wilson came out of nowhere, Matt Flynn was supposed to be the Seahawks' starting quarterback. Before the season started, however, it was Wilson, not Flynn that was named the Seahawks' starting quarterback, and it was without question the right move. Now, however, the Seahawks have a very expensive backup quarterback that could be trade ammunition in the offseason...

Seattle heads into offseason with core intact

As belongings were packed up, the phrase became a popular refrain coming from all corners of the Seattle Seahawks locker room. ''We have a really good core group here.'' Title games feature Ravens-Pats, 49ers-Falcons

One game is a rematch. The other might feel like one. For the second straight year in the AFC, the New England Patriots will host the Baltimore Ravens with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. In the NFC, it will be San Francisco traveling to Atlanta, with the Falcons defense trying to stop a versatile, running quarterback for the second straight week. On Saturday, Colin Kaepernick...

Falcons survive Seahawks

This game, the one over the weekend I looked forward to the most, was what I expected. Atlanta benefited from big home field advantage and the Falcons (NFL’s least penalized team) were only penalized for 11 yards. Seahawks looked jetlagged to start and fell behind 20-0 at halftime. Russell Wilson showed a little inexperience at the end of the first half as the Seahawks were unable...
