Last season the Bears surprised many when they drafted Kyle Long. By most accounts, Long was considered a second round player but the Bears decided to take him 20th overall. All Long did was become the starting right guard and make it to the Pro Bowl in his first season. He was outstanding all season and figures to be one of the better guards in the league for seasons to come. Guards are not a glamorous as tackles but are still vital to an offensive line’s success. Long might have a future at tackle but for now he provides a mean streak up front the Bears haven’t had since center Olin Kreutz. What makes the Long selection so key is the lack of talent at the position in this year’s draft. There isn’t a player of his caliber available this year. The Bears made the right move in drafting Long know the talent was scarce in the next season. Want to know who the top players are in the draft this year at center and guard? Here’s the top 10 list from our national site. There are some talent...

Chicago Bears 2014 Mock Draft: 2 Rounds

3 Players The Chicago Bears Should Target in the 2014 Draft

1. Justin Gilbert, CB OSU Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports With all of the controversy surrounding the return of Charles Tillman, Gilbert would be a decent replacement if the Bears did go forward with releasing Tillman. Justin’s 4.37 time in the 40 yard dash was the best amongst Defensive backs in the combine, making him an asset to an older more beat up defense. The 6’0″ 200lb...

Fixing the Chicago Bears Part V: Quarterbacks

Before this article gets started, I have to admit that the layout of part 5 will be different than that of any other Fixing the Chicago Bears piece that I have done in the past.Due to the fact that Jay Cutler has already been solidified as the starter and franchise quarterback, the Cutler/McCown conversation has since gown by the wayside, and the focus now turns to the back-up quarterback...
