Chicago Bears quarterback Jay
Cutler was unable to practice once again yesterday, casting doubt on his status
for Monday night’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, while wide receiver
Alshon Jeffery was limited at practice and could return from a hand injury.
Cutler continues to recover from
a concussion he sustained last weekend against the Houston Texans after being
hit high by linebacker Tim Dobbins. The linebacker was flagged for the hit and
the NFL ultimately fined him $30,000.
While coach Lovie Smith has said
that Cutler could start Monday night against the 49ers without practicing this
week, his status will remain doubtful as long as he’s restricted to the
While Cutler hasn’t been able to
participate in practice this week, Jeffery was once again limited on Thursday.
He’s recovering from a hand injury, and there is still potential that he could
suit up against San Francisco.
Beyond Cutler, defensive linemen
Shea McClellin (concussion) and Matt Toeaina (calf) also didn’t practice Thursday.
Jeffery was limited, and defensive lineman Henry Melton (back) was a full
