Burlacher
Chicago Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher will not play Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, according to ESPN.com. Urlacher, who practiced on a limited basis Friday and was listed on the team's injury report as questionable, has been out since he strained a hamstring on Dec. 2 against the Seattle Seahawks. Nick Roach will start his fourth straight game in place of Urlacher. If the Bears clinch a playoff spot, Urlacher could be back next week. Chicago can get a wild-card berth if they win and the Green Bay Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings.

The first place to look to where they need to improve, is by examining the players that will be possibly be saying sayonara to the Chicago Bears in...

Bears fire Lovie Smith after nine seasons

Several other coaches have already fallen on "Black Monday," but none more surprising than Lovie Smith. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the now-former Bears coach has been fired after nine seasons. The news is surprising given that Smith is coming off a 10-6 season and has accumulated an 81-63 career record, including a Super Bowl appearance. However, his downfall...

Chicago Bears 2012 Season in Review: What Went Right, What Went Wrong

The 2012-13 season was yet another disappointing season, to say the least, for Chicago Bears fans. Bears fans saw their team become the first since 1996 to miss the playoffs after starting the season 7-1. I, along with many other fans, was very optimistic about the Bears’ playoff chances at the beginning of the season. Jay Cutler was healthy, we finally had a true number one receiver...

Devin Hester considering retirement

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, with the news of  Bears head coach Lovie Smith getting fired today. wide receiver/kick returner Devin Hester says he’s considering retirement. Under Smith the Bears remained a defense first minded team and never developed an...

Chicago Bears Needed to Move On From Lovie Smith

I started writing a recap of every team in the NFL. I was going to rip most teams to shreds and really only give like…three teams any credit whatsoever (Broncos, Patriots, 49ers if you’re really that curious). I was building my list alphabetically. I mocked the Cardinals. I gave credit to like, one-fifth of the Falcons. If The post Chicago Bears Needed to Move On From Lovie...

Devin Hester Considering Retirement

Bears wideout Devin Hester is pondering retirement, according to the Chicago Tribune.Fantasy Spin:When asked if football is still as fun for him as it used to be, Hester said, "It's not." If this is it for the 30-year-old, he'll go down as one of the finest return men in league history. Hester's 13 punt return touchdowns are a league record.

Can't Buy Me Lovie

So the Bears won yesterday and finished 10-6 on the year, a 2-game improvement upon 2011. Normally this doesn't get your coach fired, but when the coach has been there for 9 seasons and has only put together back-to-back winning seasons once, normal doesn't apply. So the Bears owners (maybe management) did what I'd say 99% of Bears fans wanted and fired Lovie today. These...
