Pro Sports Daily:
If there was one positive takeaway from the Bears' loss to the Saints on Sunday afternoon it's the emergence of Alshon Jeffery.
Jeffery finished the game with 10 receptions for 218 yards and a touchdown. He broke the Bears' previous all-time mark of 214 yards set by Harlon Hill in 1954 and became only the third player in franchise history with 200 receiving yards in a single contest.
In two straight games Jay Cutler has targeted Jeffery more than any other receiver on the Bears and for good reason; he's producing more than anybody in the group. Jeffery accounted for the Bears' five longest plays against the Saints. He had receptions of 58 42 31 25 and 21 yards. Its the kind of production the Bears need from the second-year receiver if they want to take the next step towards the postseason in 2013.
It's also the kind of production the front office expected when they traded up to select Jeffery in the 2012 NFL Draft.

The Bears lost to the Saints on Sunday, but may have finally their second option to Brandon Marshall at the receiver position.

Bears wideout Alshon Jeffery had a career game Sunday against the Saints, catching 10 balls for 218 yards and a touchdown.Fantasy Spin:Jay Cutler targeted Jeffery 13 times, seven more than any other Bears player. Brandon Marshall has been blanketed by opposing defenses in recent weeks, but the emergence of Jeffery as a dangerous weapon should open things up for Marshall going forward.
Chicago Bears receiver Brandon Marshall understands he's going to turn heads when he speaks out, given his well-publicized struggles with mental illness.
He also wanted to make a few things clear. His illness is behind him. It's important to express himself - and he wants the ball.

Bears wideout Alshon Jeffery's 218 receiving yards today against the New Orleans Saints is the most in a single game in Chicago franchise history.
Despite a franchise-record receiving performance from Alshon Jeffery and another 300-yard plus passing game from Jay Cutler, the New Orleans Saints used long sustained drives to start fast and hold off the Chicago Bears 26-18 at sun-splashed Soldier Field on Sunday. It marked the second straight loss for the Bears (3-2), and continued a disturbing trend of uneven early-season play [...]
Chicago wide receiver Brandon Marshall has been relatively quiet the last three weeks, although he expects that to soon change when the Bears face the New York Giants on Thursday.
Suddenly, Jay Cutler has too many targets?
A day after star receiver Brandon Marshall vented after a lack of catches, the Chicago Bears' quarterback brushed off the comments and said his teammate is frustrated because he wants to succeed.
''He's human,'' Cutler said. ''He wants to be personally successful but he knows for us to get where we want...

Brandon Marshall expressed frustration following the Bears’ 26-18 loss to the Saints. “The frustration comes from when we’re not winning and the offense isn’t moving the ball. It has nothing to do [with] me. It’s about I want to win,” Marshall said via ESPN.com. “I’ve got a nice contract. I’ve been to Pro Bowls. I’ve made All-Pro. I want to win. Sometimes, the...
The Bears are running very thin at the defensive tackle position. Coming into Sunday's game, the team had been forced to place Henry Melton on Injured Reserve. They will now also be without Stephen Paea, who missed practice all week with a toe injury. Without both Melton and Paea, the Bears defensive front will be a weakspot for the team. Nate Collins and Landon Cohen, both...
