The Bears are releasing the six-year defensive end out of Miami.
With the offseason well underway, the Chicago Bears are making roster moves. According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Bears are releasing Al-Quadin Muhammad.
Al-Quadin Muhammad is an NFL veteran with six years of experience, the last of which he spent with the Chicago Bears. After being drafted 196th overall in the 2017 NFL draft, the New Orleans Saints cut Muhammad after one season.
Muhammad then spent the next four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts before signing with the Bears. The six-foot-four, 250-pound defensive lineman played in 16 games for Chicago but only started nine of them.
He recorded one sack and just under 30 total tackles. After 11 sacks over four seasons with the Colts, this production was a massive dip for Muhammad.
Chicago Bears GM, Ryan Poles, has many holes to fill on this roster including the defensive line. Cutting Al-Quadin Muhammad is only the beginning of the lengthy process that is reshaping the Bears' roster.
