The Chicago Bears are down to two candidates for their head
coaching vacancy, Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and
Montreal Alouettes coach Marc Trestman, according to Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Chris Mortensen of ESPN reported earlier tonight that one of
them will be Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. Adam Schefter
of ESPN reports that the other is Montreal Alouettes coach Marc Trestman.
One candidate that was informed he wouldn’t become the Bears’
next head coach told David Haugh of The Chicago Tribune that the team will
bring its two finalists to Halas Hall today.
Several analysts, including FOX’s Jimmy Johnson, have
declared that Trestman will get the job. Chicago has been seeking a replacement
head coach since firing Lovie Smith following a disappointing 2012 season that
ended with the team once again missing the playoffs.
