Found March 11, 2013 on NFL Injury Report:
Miami apparently has no interest in paying top dollar to retain Jake Long, who was the team's No. 1 overall pick in 2008.   Yet there are two teams in the hunt for Long, reports Mike Garafolo of USA Today.  The Chicago Bears and St. Louis Rams are most interested in the soon-to-be former Miami offensive tackle. Both Chicago and St. Louis have a need at offensive tackle to protect their starting quarterbacks: Jay Cutler and Sam Bradford.  As free agency nears, it is more and more evident that we've probably seen the last of Long in a Miami uniform. The Dolphins have the cap room to spend but haven’t shown any indication they will use it on the veteran left tackle. The only chance of Long returning to Miami is if he doesn't get much interest elsewhere in free agency and is willing to take a team-friendly contract. Dolphins Fan Tells Jake Long’s Wife “Screw Your Husband” She Responds “Don’t Worry, I Do”

Miami Dolphins Tackle Jake Long is a free agent and the team looks prepared to let him walk. This apparently angered a fan who decided the best avenue to vent his frustration at Long’s salary demands would be to tweet the man’s wife. Haha really??? Get a life.“@craigerdoit: @jackielong_17 screw your husband!!!!!” Don’t worry, I do. — Jackie Long (@jackielong_17) March...

Report: Mike Wallace to the Dolphins is a “done deal”

According to the Palm Beach Post, Mike Wallace signing with the Miami Dolphins is believed to be a “done deal.” We hear from someone we trust that it’s a “done deal” that Wallace will be signing with Miami. The writing has been on the wall for a while now that Wallace will land in Miami.  It would be a shock if he signs anywhere else. Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI...

Dolphins Re-Sign S Chris Clemons

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the Dolphins re-signed FS Chris Clemons to a one-year contract. Clemons, 27, was a big contributor for the Dolphins this season. He tallied 99 tackles and two interceptions while playing in all 16 games. Miami seems likely to lose free agent CB Sean Smith, but keeping Clemons at least maintains some stability in their secondary.

Money and Weather are the Only Reasons to Sign with Miami Dolphins

One of the things I love most about free agency is that it gives a glimpse into the type of player and person these free agents are. What I mean by that is that it’s easy to tell who is in it for the money and who is in it for the ring. 2013 is no different, as one team, the Miami Dolphins, continue to get mentioned as a major player. The problem with that is, the Dolphins have...

Burnett latest victim in Dolphins' LB house cleaning

The Miami Dolphins did some spring cleaning the old fashioned way on Tuesday: by seniority. The team completely revamped its linebacking corps on the first day of free agency, and its veterans saw the worst of it.According to Jim Trotter of Sports Illustrated, 30-year-old Kevin Burnett is the latest victim, cut by team shortly after the signing of Oakland’s Phillip Wheeler. Burnett...

Miami Dolphins sign MLB Dannell Ellerbe

This was the one move that came completely out of nowhere. Middle linebacker wasn’t a need of the Dolphins’. Sure, Karlos Dansby was getting older, but he still played at a very high level and cutting him and giving Dannell Ellerbe even more money makes absolutely no sense. Dansby was owed about 15 million over the final two seasons of his deal, including just 6 million this...

Reggie Bush Hits The Club

I chill with hipsters Juan… Reggie Bush is going to be a sought after FA very soon.  The Lions are the front runner here from the rumors getting thrown around, but anything is possible in FA. Reggie Bush Holds Up Another Team’s Jersey On The Rise: Lamar Miller

Miami makes moves as free agency opens

No surprise, the Miami Dolphins wasted little time making splashes in free agency. The Dolphins agreed to deals with their No. 1 target, wide receiver Mike Wallace, and linebacker Dannell Ellerbe. Wallace gives Miami a deep threat the team hasnt had in more than a decade. The former Steeler reportedly just needed to pass a physical before signing a five-year, 60-65 million pact...

Dolphins reach agreement with former Raven Ellerbe

Offensive improvement wasn’t the only thing on the mind of Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland Tuesday.According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, the ‘Fins have agreed in principle to a five-year, $35 million contract with Ravens’ linebacker Dannell Ellerbe.Ellerbe had his most productive season during the Ravens’ Super Bowl run, notching 4.5 sacks and 2 forced...

It’s no secret that the San Diego Chargers are heading into a new era under the helm of first-year general manager Tom Telesco and head coach Mike McCoy.The free agency period in the NFL will begin at 12:01 AM on March 12th, and the question in San Diego is will the Chargers make a big splash in the marketplace? The new GM’s blueprint for success is building through the Draft...

Latest news on the Dolphins, as Free Agency begins (sort of)

The Miami Dolphins have been saving their pennies for this offseason and the time for talk is over.  At midnight last night, the 3 day window that allows the Dolphins and other NFL teams to speak with players’ representatives, finally got under way.  The Dolphins can speak only with the players’ representatives and not the players themselves.  The NFL issued a memo yesterday...

Wheeler inks deal with free-agent hungry Dolphins

If you weren’t sure already, The Miami Dolphins want to revamp their linebacking corps. In a third move in as many hours on Tuesday, the team has agreed to terms with former Oakland Raiders linebacker Philip Wheeler, this according to Pro Football Talk. The deal is reportedly for five years at $26 million, with half of that guaranteed. The move further complicates the team’s depth...
