NFL Trade Rumors:
The Chicago Bears announced on Tuesday that they’ve officially terminated the contract of WR Johnny Knox.
Knox, who is recovering from a fractured vertebrae, missed the entire 2012 season and was set to become an unrestricted free agent. The Bears could have retained him for another season by tolling his contract since he was placed on PUP, but obviously elected to pass on him.
This is a really tough position for Knox seeing as NFL teams will almost certainly require definitive proof that he’s close to being 100 percent given how serious his injury is. He’s still only 26 years old, but it’s really hard to speculate as to whether or not there will be any kind of market for him in the next few months.
