The Chicago Bears will try out free agent running back Steve Slaton on Saturday, according to ESPN Chicago. News of the workout was first reported by the Chicago Tribune. The Bears are looking to add another running back to the roster with starter Matt Forte out with a high ankle sprain. He sustained the injury to his right ankle in the third quarter Thursday against the Green Bay Packers, a 23-10 loss. Forte could be out two to four weeks, according to ESPN. Michael Bush filled in for Forte and is expected to get the bulk of the carries while Forte is out. Slaton rushed for 1,282 yards with nine touchdowns in 2008 when he was a Houston Texans rookie but was released after three years there. He played three games with the Miami Dolphins last year and was cut from the team Sept. 1.
