Well, it was a good run.For the last two years, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick had been the highest-paid coach in America. But according to Forbes, Belichick is now runner-up to New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton.Payton is salaried at $8 million, while Belichick is reportedly slated to make $7.5 million a year -- the same as Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. Belichick took the top spot in 2011 after then-Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson retired.“Belichick is arguably the NFL’s best tactician," Forbes wrote, via WEEI, "evidenced by the fact that the Patriots have won 72.6% of their games and made five trips to the Super Bowl since he took over in 2000."At least Belichick can take solace in the fact that he probably has the most job security of all the others atop the list.Follow Nick @NickStDenisFollow AFC East Daily @AFCEastDaily

Kyle Love fires back at Patriots: ‘That’s how they run their business up there’

Former New England Patriots defensive tackle Kyle Love is happy being a Jacksonville Jaguar, but he’s not surprised he now finds himself one. "That’s how they run their business up there," Love said of the Patriots organization who dumped him last week.

Brandon Spikes likely done in New England after this season

Tom Curran of believes that it’s pretty obvious that linebacker Brandon Spikes will be playing his final season with the Patriots in 2013. The writing on the wall is becoming more legible when it comes to Brandon Spikes. Despite the fact he is the best purveyor of on-field nasty the Patriots have, Spikes’ distaste for the Patriots expectations of how to get ready for...

Tom Brady Says He No Longer Gets ‘Caught Up in Anger and Frustration and Disappointment’ Over Patriots’ Decisions

It’s easy for Patriots fans to imagine Tom Brady being irked when longtime friend and productive teammate Wes Welker signed with the Broncos this offseason after the Patriots failed to give much of a chase. But heading into his 14th year in the league, Brady has seen his share of personnel moves, and — like any good quarterback looking down the field — he’s adjusted his approach...

The Patriots love for Rutgers players is getting borderline creepy

Ok, now this is getting a little bit weird. It started off as kind of a joke when the Patriots drafted Rutgers corner back Logan Ryan in the fourth round this year. Oh boy, three total Rutgers grads on New England! Then the Patriots reached later in the fourth round to draft Rutgers safety Duron Harmon. A player who was thought by many to maybe even be an undrafted free-agent....

Bill Belichick is not only one of the most respected coaches in American sports, he’s also one of the highest-paid.
