The Houston Texans earned a return trip to Foxboro following their win over Cincinnati Saturday night. New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick had his conference call today, and he surprisingly was forthcoming with information. That's not to say The Hoodie explained the game plan in detail, but he did give a little more than expected for a Sunday before the Divisional Round. When asked if the staff was able to put in some time for Houston last week, Belichick didn't give the usual we study all possible opponents type of answer. Instead, he said "I don’t know what the exact timeline would be but I’d we’re definitely ahead. We spent a significant amount of time on them last week. It was the first game, we would know by Saturday night whether they were the next opponent or not, we wouldn’t need to look past that if they won." Sounds to FVP that he was expecting the Texans to win. Asked if he saw anything different Saturday night, The Hooded One did not hide behi...

According to a report in The Oregonian, Ducks head football coach Chip Kelly is waiting for his dream job, the head coaching gig with the Patriots, to open up.

Belichick not impressed by team's Texans blowout

To hear Bill Belichick glumly address reporters on Monday, you'd think the Houston Texans blew out the Patriots in the regular season and not the other way around. The New England coach says, ''I don't think anybody really cares'' about what happened in Week 14. That was when the Patriots beat Houston 42-14. But now that the teams are getting ready to play...

Tom Brady makes fun of himself, Peyton Manning in interview

Tweet For much of his career, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has taken on the persona of his coach, Bill Belichick, when there is a microphone in his face. Brady almost always appears calm, matter-of-fact and like everything is all-business when he is being interviewed. However, in a recent interview with the Boston Herald, [...]

Matt Schaub Gets Job Done vs. Bengals

Houston quarterback Matt Schaub completed 29-of-38 passes for 262 yards and an interception Saturday in his first career playoff victory.Fantasy Spin:This wasn't Schaub's best effort but certainly the Texans (losers of three out of four to end the regular season) are happy to get the win. Next, Houston will head to Foxborough to take on the AFC East Champion Patriots. New...

A Good Sign for the Texans?

Our friend John Wessling pointed this out today before the game.     The Texans misspelled Schaub on the pro bowl poster in the game program today. #schuab #thatssohouston… — John Wessling (@johnwessling) January 5, 2013     This could be a good sign especially with the move the Houston Texans and Reliant stadium pulled last season after winning...

Houston Texans at New England Patriots: Divisional Round Pick

The Patriots blew out the Texans in Foxborough a few weeks ago so they’ll definitely blow them out again right? Well that seems to be what everyone thinks as, in spite of this ridiculous spread, the public is all over the Patriots. How ridiculous is this spread? Well, two weeks ago in the Patriots’ last game, they were favored by 10.5 over the Dolphins. Now they’re favored...

Houston beats Bengals in wild-card playoff

HOUSTON (AP) -- Arian Foster ran for 140 yards and a touchdown, and the Houston Texans used a stifling defensive effort for a 19-13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday in an AFC wild-card playoff game. The Texans will next play at New England on Jan. 13. Foster became the first player in NFL history to have 100-yard games in each of his first three playoff games. The Texans...

Texans Down Bengals, 19-13: The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly

THE GOOD: Houston's OffenseThe Texans scored just one touchdown in Saturday's game, but scored on five different possessions. That tells us that Houston moved the ball consistently all day, and stuck to its game plan: giving the ball to #23.  Arian Foster ran for 140 yards on 32 carries, and scored the only offensive touchdown in the game.  He also added eight grabs for...

It’s 2010 All Over Again for Patriots. Or Not.

The Patriots will play the Houston Texans this coming Sunday at Gillette Stadium. Because of the outcome of the previous meeting between the two clubs, there appear to be two camps on this one. Either the game will be a repeat of the first one, though perhaps not quite as decisive for the Patriots, or we will see a repeat of the 2010 season when the Patriots walloped the Jets late...
