In my eyes, there is no question that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is still the best in the AFC North, and most certainly still better than Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens. I have been called a biased homer for this being a Steelers fan, especially since Flacco won a Super Bowl and signed a gigantic contract extension. However, the Baltimore Sun recently asked a poll question about who the better quarterback is of the two. Being Baltimore based, one would think Flacco easily won this matchup just because the newspaper is in his own city, right? As of 9:30pm last night, Big Ben held a 95% to 5% lead in the vote, and ended up winning the poll by a similar margin:   Now, it is 100% possible that Steeler Nation rallied together and showed everyone just why they call us a Nation. Any contest between the Steelers and Ravens will have Steelers fans coming out in droves. At the same time, I am thoroughly confused as to why Flacco didn’t receive more votes simply because this poll was conducted by a NEWSPAPER IN BALTIMORE.  At the end of the day, the poll is correct. Roethlisberger is the better quarterback. I just don’t know if he’s 95% to 5% better. Bob Labriola of Steelers Digest was asked on Tuesday during the Steelers Live show if any other player had caught his eye over the weekend...

Report: Steelers Recently Talked To Max Starks, Who Still Wants Opportunity To Start

According to Wednesday report by Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review , the Pittsburgh Steelers recently reached out to free agent tackle Max Starks, but his return to Pittsburgh, at least according to him, isn't likely to happen unless he is given the opportunity to compete for a starting spot. According to Kaboly, Starks seems to think that the Steelers have now...

Steelers Lack Experienced Depth At The Nose Tackle Position

The Pittsburgh Steelers did right by signing nose tackle Steve McLendon to a three year contract a few weeks ago. The former undrafted free agent out of Troy finally graduated from Mitchell University and deserves a chance to start in 2013. Now that we have that out of the way, what about the depth at the nose tackle position behind McLendon? The Steelers currently have Alameda...

Top 5 Areas the Steelers Will Need Significant Contributions From This Season

After a lackluster performance most easily demonstrated in the 8-8 record in the 2012 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers will need some significant contributions from the entire organization in order to not only improve on the .500 performance, but to contend for a seventh Lombardi. The below list identifies the top five areas that need the most improvement and / or biggest contributions...

Ryan Clark Inadvertently Admits to Rift in Steelers 2012 Locker Room and Fires Back at Joe Greene’s Mention of an “Attitude Change”

Yesterday Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette posted some remarks from Steelers lengend “Mean” Joe Greene about the “attitude change” surrounding the team. Today, safety Ryan Clark fired back on ESPN’s “First Take” about the change, which he believes is here to stay. “The scary thing is that players have a one-upmanship about money; they sign a contract and...

Steelers LB Marshall McFadden Says Rookie Camp Was A Great Refresher For Him

As you probably already know by now, I am very high on Marshall McFadden, the Pittsburgh Steelers young inside linebacker out of South Carolina State and it appears that the rookie camp held last weekend did him a world of good as he prepares to do battle in training this year for a spot on the 53 man roster. McFadden admitted over the weekend that he struggled grasping things...

GM Kevin Colbert says the Steelers got the running back they wanted in draft: ‘In Le'Veon we thought we had a complete package’

When you go back and think about the classic Pittsburgh running game, it’s bruising, physical, power football. There is no finesse to it, and it isn’t rocket science, just move people out of the way. GM Kevin Colber and coach Mike Tomlin dually felt their power running game was quickly becoming a game of flag football. Former running back Rashard Mendenhall just didn...

Judge dismisses charge against Rolando McClain

A city judge has dismissed a charge accusing Baltimore Ravens linebacker Rolando McClain of lying to police about his identity. The charge stemmed from McClain writing profanity on a ticket for a window-tint violation on April 21 instead of signing his name. Circuit Clerk Jessica Hayes said Thursday municipal Judge Billy Cook Jr. dismissed the charge at the prosecution's request...

Bouchette: Steelers Hire Two Scouts to Player Personnel Department; Promote Two Others

According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette the Pittsburgh Steelers have hired two new scouts. As Bouchette mentions the Steelers like to keep things “in the family” and these two hires couldn’t ring anymore true to that fact. The two added to the Steelers scouting department are Dan Colbert, son of GM Kevin Colbert, and Mike Butler, son of Hall of Fame corner...

Grading the Draft: Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers lost a few big names to free agency in the offseason, namely wide receiver Mike Wallace, linebacker James Harrison and running back Rashard Mendenhall. With the rest of their roster mostly intact, their draft strategy this season was to replace the players they lost and get younger in the process. Not surprisingly, the Steelers used their first three draft picks to replace...

Marshall McFadden Hoping to Follow in James Harrison’s Footsteps

There has been a lot of talk about the inside linebacker position this off-season. A year ago the Steelers cut James Farrior for performance and salary cap reasons and the quest to find a long-term inside linebacker began. During the 2012 season Larry Foote took over the starting job alongside Lawrence Timmons and although he played well he is a liability in coverage and he isn’t...

Steelers Safety Ryan Clark Makes a Bad Play in May

Once again, incendiary comments from a Steelers safety are written on a whiteboard somewhere in the recesses of Gillette Stadium. Just what the Steelers needed. Thank you, Ryan Clark. Clark said this week on ESPN’s “NFL Live” that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will “duck” and “flinch” even when pressure isn’t there and that he “sees ghosts.” He said...
