The Pittsburgh Steelers embarrassed themselves during a 34-24 Week 14 home loss to the San Diego Chargers last Sunday, and the fans even booed the team at different points in the game. The boos were most noticeable after receiver Mike Wallace dropped a pass during the second quarter when the team was only down 3-0. Even though Wallace finished with seven catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns, what stood out to the fans was that play, especially after Wallace had limited production the previous four games. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger seemed to come to Wallace’s defense by grouping the entire offense together. He says he really let his teammates hear it during halftime of the game. “I laid into the whole offense, not just Mike,” Roethlisberger told reporters this week, per the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “I think we all deserved to get booed, which I feel like we did.” It’s odd to hear Roethlisberger say the offense deserved to get booed when, earlier in the week, he seemed to ...

Roethlisberger Chose Not To Wear Custom-made Protective Vest Against Chargers

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger made his return to the field this past Sunday after missing the previous three games due to a rib and shoulder injury suffered in the game against the Kansas City Chiefs and the belief was that he would be wearing a custom-made protective vest and shoulder pads that included Kevlar padding to help protect him. As it turns out, he...

Ben Roethlisberger scoffs at Cowboys as America’s Team; calls Steelers World’s Team

How many times have we all asked the question of ‘do the Dallas Cowboys still qualify as being good enough to be called America’s Team?’ Despite the Steelers ugly loss to the Chargers upon his return to the lineup, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger took a dig at Dallas’ title when asked about Tony Romo.  Please Click Here To Read This Article & Answer A Poll That Asks...

Ben Roethlisberger says the Steelers are “The Worlds Team”

While talking to the media today after preparing to face off against the Dallas Cowboys this week,  Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said if the Cowboys are “America’s Team,” the Steelers are “The Worlds Team.” Ok, Roethlisberg is going a little too far, but I do agree that the Steelers are well represented around the United States.  I probably know...

Steelers: Boos May Have Woken up Mike Wallace

With three good games to finish out the 2012 season Mike Wallace could break 1,00 receiving yards for the third straight year and break, or match, his career high for touchdown receptions. However, anyone who has watched the Steelers thirteen games this season can tell you that Wallace is not having the kind of year that his statistics may make you think he is having. During the...

Steelers Versus Chargers Game Rewind – First Half Notes – Week 14

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the San Diego Chargers Sunday 34-24 and below are my first half notes from the game with the second half notes to follow soon. The quick screen to Mike Wallace on the first play was an excellent call to get Ben Roethlisberger an easy first throw and Wallace involved in the game early. I called for such a thing in my pregame 7 keys article as well...

Beating Dallas Means More Than Just a Step Toward the Playoffs

Whether you were alive in the ’70′s or not, you damn well better know about the rivalry that ensued between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys. So-called “America’s Team” full of glamour and filled with a prim and proper style up against the “Men of Steel” from the harsh, dirty environment of the rust belt. Twice they would meet in two of the greatest Super...

Steelers WR Wallace focused on efforts, not boos

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace says he's focusing on the final three weeks of the season, not his uncertain future with the team or the booing he received during last week's loss to San Diego. Wallace said he understands why some people are ''out to get'' him following his lengthy holdout during training camp. He returned to the Steelers without...

Competition Analysis Week 15: Steelers Versus Cowboys

By Christopher DiMarino Fantasy Overview: I guess Dr. Jekyll had a short lived appearance as Mr. Hyde reared his ugly head just one week later. After an inspirational and important win against the Baltimore Ravens without Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers followed it up by losing to the San Diego Chargers. It’s hard to call it much more than an off week. The world is aware that...

Rashard Mendenhall suspended for not showing up

The Pittsburgh Steelers suspended running back Rashard Mendenhall for the week, including Sunday's game in Dallas for what the team said was "conduct detrimental to the team." The reason for the suspension, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, is Mendenhall did not show up for the Steelers game against the San Diego Chargers at Heinz Field.  Even though Mendenhall...

Steelers may have to replace Mike Wallace and Rashard Mendenhall in the offseason

According to ProFootballWeekly.com, there’s a chance that the Pittsburgh Steelers won’t have Mike Wallace and Rashard Mendenhall on their roster next season. Much is made about the Steelers’ age on defense, and it’s logical to believe they could add a little more youth to that side of the ball next offseason, most likely in the draft, where Pittsburgh usually does its business...

Steelers-Cowboys Preview

While the Dallas Cowboys look to continue their playoff push, they might have to do it without their top offensive threat. The Pittsburgh Steelers have quarterback Ben Roethlisberger back, but need a win to hold on to their AFC wild-card spot. The Cowboys and Steelers will try to boost their postseason chances Sunday when they meet in Dallas. After a 20-19 victory at Cincinnati...

Tomlin talks Mendenhall suspension

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin suspended Rashard Mendenhall for one week after the running back failed to attend last Sunday's game at Heinz Field. Tomlin spoke about the suspension for the first time on Wednesday. "Last Sunday he was not at the game,'' Tomlin said after practice via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I deemed those actions a detriment...

Pittsburgh Steelers at Dallas Cowboys: Week 15 NFL Pick

Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6) at Dallas Cowboys (7-6) After the Steelers’ loss last week, I was expecting them to be dogs here, especially after the Cowboys big win as dogs last week. There was no early line last week because Ben Roethlisberger’s status was still in doubt so I didn’t know really what to expect in terms of this line. I was expecting them to be dogs, though dogs...
