Texans HC Gary Kubiak noted that RB Ben Tate has almost regained the back-up running back position, according to the team’s Twitter account. Kubiak cites an increased level of conditioning on Tate’s part as the reason why he’s comfortable putting the rusher back into the second spot on the depth chart. Tate would take Justin Forsett‘s spot. The Texan has experience backing up Arian Foster and has spelled the latter in the past with success; this move will certainly open up the Houston offense.

Gary Kubiak calls out his team, expects Texans to rebound from tough loss

Head Coach Gary Kubiak let his players know after the New England loss that the season isn’t over and they are still 11-2. The Patriots have a way of making a team look utterly defenseless when they are clicking on all cylinders, but Kubiak knows this could be a turning point, good or bad. He’s hoping it’s for the good of the team that they will learn from the experience...

Texans putting loss, letter jackets in the past

HOUSTON -- Ask any high school coach. You play how you look. So when the Houston Texans showed up Monday night in letter jackets, looking like a high school team, well, they got crushed by the Patriots. "We're not talking about letter jackets anymore," defensive tackle Shaun Cody said. "That was completely Connor Barwin's idea." Cody was (sort of) joking...

Texans vs. Patriots: Outplayed and Outcoached

Wade Phillips Promises Texans ‘Will Be Back’ After Monday Night Loss to Patriots

The Texans are reeling from the 42-14 beatdown they received at the hands of the Patriots on Monday night, but it’s nothing they haven’t overcome before. After all, Houston lost big to the Packers the last time they appeared on the national stage, losing 42-24 on Sunday Night Football back in Week 6. Still, the Texans reeled off a big winning streak after that game, and defensive...

Texans punter, "I'm not an actual NFL 'football' player"

There's a long running argument, or joke depending on how you view it, that kickers in the NFL aren't actually football players. This week, the Texans' punter seemed to fall in line with that belief. According to James Palmer of Comcast Sportsnet, Texans punter, Donnie Jones, shrugged off an injury he sustained in Houston's Monday night loss to the Patriots, saying...

Lots is being said about the Houston Texans this morning after getting beat soundly by the Patriots last night, 14-42. New England was favored since they were at home. But really, should we even be surprised the Texans lost? The Texans have had the fortune this year of playing in one of the weaker divisions in the NFL. They've already beat Tennessee (4-9) twice and Jacksonville...

Texans Embarrassed Again in Primetime, Leave Doubt About Place Among NFL’s Elite Teams

The Houston Texans have had two chances this year, on national TV in primetime, to prove that they belong among the NFL’s elite. In both of those opportunities, they have come up woefully short. After being stomped out by the Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football in Week 6, the Texans laid another egg on Monday, this time on Monday Night Football...
