The Baltimore Ravens allowed 468 yards of total offense in Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco 49ers, the most ever by a winning team in the NFL’s championship game. This was odd considering the historical perception of the Ravens as a team led by a strong defense, but not for this year’s edition, which was better statistically on offense than defense for only the third time in franchise history, and the first time since 1997.  What the Ravens did in the Super Bowl, however, was adhere to the old cliché, “bend but don’t break.”
