The San Diego Chargers say their game Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals will be blacked out in Southern California because nearly 11,000 general admission tickets remained unsold at Thursday's deadline. It will be the second straight blackout and third this season for the Chargers (4-7) who are nearing elimination from playoff contention for the third straight season. The team also says ''many'' higher-priced club-level seats are available. Those don't count toward the numbers needed to lift the blackout. It's believed the Chargers lose roughly $1 million in ticket revenue when that many tickets remain unsold. Earlier this year, several corporate sponsors stepped up to help save the Chargers the embarrassment of having an NFL Network game against the Kansas City Chiefs blacked out on local TV. Those sponsors guaranteed the purchase of roughly 10,000 tickets to lift the blackout. More than 9,000 general admission tickets remained unsold 72 hours before last week's game against Baltimore. The Sept. 23 game against Atlanta was blacked out when 9,200 tickets remained unsold at the deadline.

Have Bengals found their second WR in Sanu?

The problem with having a secret weapon comes when that secret ends. The red-hot Cincinnati Bengals file the emergence of rookie wide receiver Mohamed Sanu under the category of good problems to have. WDW Episode 91 – The Grass Isn’t Always Greener

It only took one pass play for the tone to be set Sunday. Palmer’s first dropback, BOOM, Geno Atkins threw him to the ground. Thanks for the draft picks. I’d much rather have the young...

Cincinnati Bengals at San Diego Chargers: Week 13 NFL Pick

Cincinnati Bengals (6-5) at San Diego Chargers (4-7) Last week, I took the Chargers for a big play for several reasons. Philip Rivers was 31-19 ATS in week 11 or later. In the last 3 years, as mediocre as they’ve been, they were still 10-5 ATS in week 11 or later, including a cover the week before in Denver. As underdogs, as they were last week, Rivers was 12-4 ATS in week 11 or...

Hey, it's one of those times I'm thrilled to be wrong.I thought the Bengals were among the "walking dead" of NFL teams this year when they had a 3-5 record. But suddenly they've won three straight -- all in blowout fashion -- and are tied with the Steelers at 6-5 and for the final playoff spot in the AFC (the Steelers currently own the tiebreaker due to their...
