With five fumbles in the past two games, Cedric Benson’s fumbles have been major news. Benson had seven fumbles last year and lost five. He had not lost any until last week’s win against Arizona and did not have any fumbles until the Dec. 18 game against St. Louis. Offensive coordinator Jay Gruden said that Benson’s fumbling is a bit of a concern going into Sunday’s regular-season finale against Baltimore, where the Bengals need a win to make the playoffs. Some of the problems have been that Benson is holding the ball too far out and Gruden indicated there might be a short leash if there is another fumble.

Cincinnati Bengals 2011: A Year of Transition

Since Marvin Lewis arrived in Cincinnati in 2003, the Bengals have shown flashes of hope to their fans, only to disappoint on a regular basis. A promising 11-5 season in 2005 that included a playoff berth spawned 3 straight seasons of regression. Another playoff invite in 2009 was quickly dashed the following year as the Bengals dropped to 4-12. The constants throughout all those...

Bengals need to stop Flacco from throwing deep

For a four-game stretch in 2009 and '10, the Bengals defense had dominated Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco. But in the first meeting Baltimore had the upper hand. Flacco has 12 passes of 35 yards or more with three of those in the Week 11 game in Baltimore. If the Bengals are to wrap up a wild-card spot with a win over the Ravens on Sunday, they are going to need to get to Flacco...

Terrell Owens To Sign With Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League

No NFL team has made moves to pick up free agent Terrell Owens. T.O. believes that he can bring value to a team heading into the playoffs. But now, it looks as if the team he could be helping is actually in the Indoor Football League. I have no clue where this league exists but the money, between $250,000 and $500,000 plus an ownership stake in the team, sounds very real. In light...

Bengals sell out big game

CINCINNATI (AP) -- The Cincinnati Bengals say that Sunday's pivotal game with the Baltimore Ravens is a sellout, only the second this season at Paul Brown Stadium. A victory would clinch an NFL wild-card playoff spot for the Bengals (9-6). The Ravens (11-4) are trying to wrap up the AFC North title and earn a first-round bye with a victory. The Bengals would need help in other...

Are Cincinnati's Ticket Sales Problems The Result Of Poor Ownership Or An Archaic Blackout Policy?

This Sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals will play host to the Baltimore Ravens in a “win and you're in the playoffs” game. With such high stakes on the line, a casual fan in any other market would expect a sure sell-out. But this week the Bengals organization held a “Buy One-Get One” sale for season ticket holders to avoid another blackout of the game locally. This begs...

Redesigned Bengals Helmets

For the Ravens’ final game of the regular season, they play the Cincinnati Bengals. As has become recent tradition around these parts, we’re here to give Cincy some more…appropriate…designs for their helmets. A few years ago, you’d have a harder time finding a player on the Bengals who HADN’T been arrested than one who had. They’ve cleaned...

Owens is indeed considering IFL offer

When a report surfaced Thursday that former NFL receiver Terrell Owens had been offered a job by the Allen Wranglers of the IFL, many believed it to be a publicity stunt. It’s not. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Owens is considering an offer that, according to the Wranglers’ website, would pay him…
