Safety Reggie Nelson did not practice for a third straight day due to a hamstring injury that he suffered during the fourth quarter of last weeks loss to Denver and is listed as doubtful. With Nelson all but out, Nate Clements and Chris Crocker are likely to be the starting safeties with Leon Hall and Terence Newman at corner against Eli Manning and company.
We will be all right, head coach Marvin Lewis said. Crocker has helped stabilize things with his experience. Hes been through the defensive system for a number of years and has been able to help other guys.
Wide receiver Marvin Jones (knee) also has not practiced all week and will miss a second straight game. Cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick (thigh) showed up on the injury report as limited on Thursday and did not practice on Friday. Center Jeff Faine (hamstring) was limited while Trevor Robinson (hamstring) had full participation and is one of six listed as probable which could indicate that the rookie will get the call at center for the second straight game.
