Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick will miss the start of training camp with a leg injury that he confirmed on Twitter.
The first-round pick will be examined when the players report on Thursday for the start of training camp. The team hasn't confirmed the injury.
CBS Sports first reported that Kirkpatrick could miss much of training camp with the injury. Kirkpatrick later tweeted: ''I'm sorry about my injury and im going to try my best to get back and help the team to get to a Super Bowl and once again I'm sorry.''
Kirkpatrick was hoping to win a starting spot across from cornerback Leon Hall, who is returning from a torn Achilles tendon. Hall is expected to be ready for the start of camp and could participate in the first workout on Friday.
Also Wednesday, the Bengals signed defensive tackle Brandon Thompson of Clemson, a third-round pick. The signing leaves all 10 Bengals draft picks under contract before the start of camp.

On Monday, Pete Prisco of CBS Sports reported his results after being given the difficult (and silly) task of predicting every NFL game for the 2012 season. We could hammer him for some of his picks. The Patriots go 16-0 again? Child, please. The Browns to go 1-15? I enjoy a good Browns-bashing as much as anyone, and the Browns might be bad, but they aren’t that bad. But if I had...

We’ve got approximately 48 hours until training camp starts for our beloved Bengals. I don’t know how you all feel, but this has been the longest off season I can ever remember. Not only has this been an incredibly exhausting time off for all us fans, but I’m sure Roger Goodell is ready to get this season started. There have...
