The Cincinnati Bengals announced that they’ve re-signed LB Rey Maualuga on Monday, per Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. Albert Breer reports that Maualuga will receive a two-year deal worth $6.5 million and includes a $2.5 million signing bonus. Maualuga, 26, visited with the Cardinals last week, but ultimately left Arizona without a contract. Recent reports suggested that the Bengals would most likely get something worked out with Maualuga, so it’s not as though this is much of a surprise. Maualuga is coming off a season in which he graded out as the worst middle linebacker in the league, according to Pro Football Focus. Maualuga figures to change positions to strong-side linebacker after LB Vontaze Burfict proved that he could be a solid contributor and a natural fit at middle linebacker in the Bengals defense. We had Maualuga listed as the No. 92 free agent available in our Top 51-100 Free Agents List.
