According to Bengals beat writer Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Cincinnati Bengals have released wide receivers Dezmon Briscoe and Matt Jones. After being considered one of the most talented wide receivers in this year’s draft class, the Bengals drafted Briscoe in the sixth round after an impressive career at Kansas. Despite his talent, Briscoe’s draft stock slipped due to off the field incidents, but was at least worth taking a risk on considering he recorded 1,407 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns during his sophomore year. The situation with Jones was similar to Briscoe’s as Cincinnati took a risk on the troubled wide receiver after signing him to a one-year deal in February. He was released from the Jacksonville Jaguars following the 2008 season after violating a plea agreement from his second arrest.
