The Cincinnati Bengals and safety Reggie Nelson agreed to terms on a four-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not announced for the 28-year-old Nelson, who started all 16 games in 2011. "We've got a great young team and I wanted to be a part of that," Nelson told the team's site. "I never wanted to leave, but when we went on the market, I had to keep my options open. But I'm comfortable being with the Bengals and these guys. It's where I want to be." The 21st overall pick of the 2007 draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Nelson collected 85 tackles, two sacks and four interceptions last season.

Bengals sign CB Jason Allen, retain S Nelson

The Bengals have signed free agent cornerback Jason Allen from Houston and agreed to a four-year deal with safety Reggie Nelson, who was one of their unrestricted free agents. The moves on Monday bolster a secondary that was one of their main concerns in the offseason. Top cornerback Leon Hall is recovering from a torn left Achilles tendon. Allen played in all 18 games for the...

Free Agency: What’s Your Rating?

The Bengals stopped sitting on their hands and started making some moves in free agency with the acquisitions of Travelle Wharton and Jason Allen and the re-signing of Reggie Nelson. Like everyone else, I was disillusioned at first as other teams opened up the vaults for Robert Meachem, Carl Nicks, and Ben Grubbs, among others. [...]

Bengals re-sign safety Reggie Nelson

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cincinnati Bengals have re-sign safety Reggie Nelson.  Terms of the deal haven’t been disclosed yet. Re-signing Nelson was a priority for the Bengals after the great season he had in helping the Bengals get back to the playffos.  He racked up 85 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 4 interceptions.

Debate Brewing Over Armon Binns

By failing to sign an established free agent wide receiver to play opposite A.J. Green, the Bengals have created a storm that will continue to build as to who should fill that role. One of the guys standing at the center of that storm is University of Cincinnati product Armon Binns. Unless the Bengals decide [...]

So Who Is The #2 WR?

The Bengals have a big hole opposite A.J. Green that needs to be filled. They need someone who can exploit opportunities when A.J. is double-covered. With the names we wanted to see fill that spot donning other uniforms (while the Bengals were sitting idly), the pickin’s are getting slim. We are now down to guys [...]

Bengals In the Fray: Add OG & DB

The Bengals finally put their money where there proverbial mouth is yesterday, jumping into the free agent fray with both feet by bringing in two players at positions of need in guard Travelle Wharton and defensive back Jason Allen. Wharton, Carolina’s 3rd-round pick in the 2004 draft, has been a constant starter for the Panthers at [...]

Michael Bush To Visit Cincinnati

Running back Michael Bush is slated to visit the Bengals on Monday, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Fantasy Spin: The bruiser would make a solid upgrade at running back for Cincinnati with Cedric Benson likely to exit in free agency, and could form a potent tandem with Bernard Scott. Bush would hold nice appeal as a No. 2 fantasy back, but of course that could change if the...

New York Jets Moving To Next Tier Of Free Agents

It is fair to be disappointed about Reggie Nelson clearly using the New York Jets to jack up the price on the Cincinnati Bengals, who he chose to re-sign with. Nelson is a rangy, athletic player who would have been an immediate upgrade at free safety. However, Nelson is a good…not great player and thus not worth despairing over for too long. It is certainly too early to feel...

There’s a good chance this week you’ll be hearing quite a bit about Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader Laura Vikmanis. Laura holds the NFL record for oldest cheerleader – 43. Of course her story dominated the cheerleading circuit in 2011 when it became a sensation. The offers soon followed Guess what comes out this week? Yep, the book. And there are boob references. Laura will...

Bengals Cheerleaders' Locker Room Reportedly Divided By Breast Implants

In most cases, there can be unrest in locker rooms due to the lack of team chemistry. However, in the case of the Cincinnati Bengals cheerleaders, the "Ben-Gals," theirs is divided because some of the girls have breast implants. Laura Vikmanis, 43, is the oldest cheerleader on the squad. She recently told the Cincinnati Enquirer that "the most prominent division on...

Examining The Team's Need Of No. 2 Wide Receiver

Heading into the 2012 season, one of the bigger needs for the Bengals is the addition of a No. 2 wide receiver to play opposite of A.J. Green. Last year, the second receiver was Jerome Simpson, who had a handful of exciting plays including his flip into the end zone, but after legal troubles and extremely inconsistent play, the team is likely hoping to find a different receiver....

Jets Have Offer On The Table To FS Reggie Nelson

The Jets took a step closer on Saturday to filling their biggest area of need in free agency. Bengals safety Reggie Nelson finished his visit with the Jets after a “productive” visit with Jets’ officials, his agent Hadley Engelhard told the Daily News on Saturday. Nelson will now weight the Jets’ offer and make up his mind within 24 hours, Engelhard said. Nelson fits the profile...
