In years past, the Cincinnati Bengals were known as an organization that harbored troubled players.
It appears that reputation still holds true.
Local 12 Cincinnati reports Bengals safety Robert Sands was arrested Friday morning after allegedly assaulting his wife at their home.
The 23-year-old was charged with assault and domestic violence, and his wife was sent to the hospital for minor injuries.
A 2011 fifth round draft pick, Sands spent the entire 2012 campaign on injured reserve following chest surgery.
Because he's a first-time offender, Sands is unlikely to face league discipline.
