The Cincinnati Bengals signed cornerback Leon Hall to a four-year, $39 million contract extension, the team's website reported Friday.
Hall becomes the highest-paid defensive player in team history. ESPN.com reported the deal guarantees Hall $14.1 million.
In the offseason, the notoriously frugal Bengals did not aggressively pursue free agent cornerback Johnathan Joseph, who signed a five-year, $48.75 million contract with Houston that included $23.5 million in guarantees.
Hall, 26, has not missed a game in his give NFL seasons, collecting 18 interceptions.
